Dak+MM for Payton and Heath would be a steal of the century for us

Sean Peyton is leaving the Saints. He’s still under contract. Here’s my recommendation. Trade Dak and McCarthy for Peyton. If that’s not enough thrown in Stephen Jones. If that’s not enough include the outdated outmoded cheerleaders. Make it Jer-Boy.

This is a joke. Payton is "retiring" b/c his QB (drew brees ) is gone and he knows there is nobody in New Orleans right now that he can build an offense around. He is burned out and doesn't have the patience to wade through a rebuilding process. He wouldn't consider Dallas unless he thought he could mold Dak into a championship caliber QB. Drew Brees was not winning anything prior to working with Payton, just like Dak. In Fact, SD thought so little of him that they drafted his replacement and got rid of him. He didn't become the iconic, future HOF QB he is until he worked with Payton. If Payton comes to Dallas, it will be in large part BECAUSE of Dak.

Sean Payton said he wants to take a year off. Some say he did that this last season already. So he's available now?

The reason you speculate he’s interested in Dallas is because of Dak. He has never hinted that he wants to go to Dallas at all. It’s entirely media conjecture
There is smoke. Brees is what kept him with the Saints. He has a close relationship with the Jones family. I think that he certainly would come to the Cowboys with a healthy Dak. I think if they don't win in 2022, there is a good chance that Payton would be the coach in 2023.

Contrary to y’all’s delusion, Dak Prescott is still one of the top quarterbacks in the league and viewed as such. PAyton would be coming here because we have a franchise quarterback in place. If he had Dak in New Orleans, there would be zero possibility of him “retiring“.

I know this hurts the feelings of people who said Jameis is just as talented/good as Dak lmao

Well, if Florio‘s report (respected reporter) is accurate then it’s not really speculation. He signed off on coming to Dallas in 2019 while he had Brees. Everything was in place and ready to go until Anthony Davis said he was not resigning with the Pelicans and was looking to play elsewhere.

I will click on this thread title and see if it is different from all the rest no it is the same thing my bad I am hungry for tacos now.

Hmm, gives me an idea for a thread where we discuss what kind of Tacos Payton likes and what kind of all you can eat offer can lure him to Dallas.

What's everyone's take? Is he a soft or hard shell man?

Yeah. All of the National media is wrong. Including reports of a trade already being agreed upon. Give it a rest. What do you think the head coach of another team is going to do? Hey, I hate No, I wish I was in Dallas? Dumb.

He’s mad. Eagles have a bottom 8 coach in the nfl.

I don't think that Sean Payton is going to go anywhere that he feels like he has to start completely over with trying to draft a QB and start fresh developing him. He'll go somewhere in which a QB is already in place that he feels like he can mold into an A QB or mold into a QB who will make the team he goes to Super Bowl contenders. One of the reasons he left the Saints was because of their QB situation.

Dumb plan to say the least. Wait 3 years and hope he’s ready to return to coaching. Can’t be a worse plan than this.

Yep there is a dumber plan. And that’s trading draft capital away for another coach who only won one SB with a HOF QB. I’m not saying I want Peyton but if we do I’m not trading away draft picks.

Yeah bc the plan we’re on is so successful. Good idea.

Jon Gruden was has spoken about preferring to have stayed in Oakland when they traded him.

Being open to coming to Dallas and preferring to go there over staying in NO are 2 very different things

Players don’t trade themselves, and coaches are the same

Where is the report about Payton’s dissatisfaction with NO? There isn’t one. Give it a rest.

If I was giving away draft capital for a coach that is actually an upgrade then yeah I’d consider it. But for Peyton? No thanks. Id rather keep Quinn and promote him and let MM go. But I bet you’re willing to part with a couple first rounders for a retread. Lol! Brilliant!!

They still own his rights he has 3 years remaining on his contract.

A coach contract is different than a players contract. Once he retires the team is no longer obligated to pay him and he could do what he wants after that. However, if he wants to coach in Dallas we still need to give NO some kind of compensation.

No draft picks. Just Jerry send 20 million in cash to the Saints. If that's allowed.
