Stop making excuses for his ego. No GM lasts 25 years with this level of failure:

Someone with the means should put this on a giant billboard outside ATT stadium.

He's built good rosters over the years. He's givin us travis frederick, tyron smith, zach martin, dlaw, micah parsons, tdiggs, sean lee, dak, zeke, all people that we have drafted just to name a few. Yes some dumb mistakes like not picking tj watt but for the most part he has did his part in building us a contending team. Now we just need a head coach that can take us over the top
You mistake talent on a team for a talented team.
Jerry can’t put together a talented team.
He’s a failure as a GM in the modern era.
End of story!

He's signed some good players but he hasn't put together a combination that will win championships. He is an owner who shouldn't try to be playing GM, a point that has been made repeatedly on this board and by the football press corps repeatedly. It's frustrating because I don't see how we will ever compete as long as he has his hands on the steering wheel for this franchise.

How about you stop licking his boots and smelling his jock. Jerry has mishandled this team for 26 years and counting. At some point the Owner should retire to his ranch and hire a real football man GM.
...or maybe sweet and aromatic descriptions could be left out of comments on other poster.

to me that makes a stronger case not weaker case. It showed me Jerry is not running around making picks on his own, that he will sit and listen to what others in the room are saying. I have heard that Jerry wants yes men and yet that is not the case.
We just ended a strong season and the usual flame throwers haven't even taken a break from the continual mantra of insult and demeaning other fans and Jerry...

Since our last SB run in the 1995 season, Jerry has hired 6 different head coaches, 7 different offensive coordinators, 8 different defensive coordinators, over 70 different assistant coaches, and somehow none of the people he’s hired have been able to take this team where 27 other NFL teams have been- at least to a conference championship. He thought Jason Garrett was worth keeping as a HC for a decade. That alone is an embarrassing indictment of his hiring abilities.

If Jerry had been the GM of any other NFL team, he would have been fired for lack of results several times over. Name an NFL team - even one- that given the chance would hire Jerry Jones as their GM. He’s a brilliant businessman who is certainly not a very good football man.

How many championships have the Mavericks or Rangers gone through recently as well? Maybe professional sports aren't the cake walk that many fans claim.

It's a culture problem that Jerry created. A different coach isn't going to change that - they are simply playing by the rules that Jerry and his family have created. GM isn't just about bringing in players. The GM is supposed to have a strategy and identity for the team and that comes with hiring the right coach who can succeed. With the country club environment they have, it's impossible to succeed there. That's why they always come out playing scared in the playoffs...too many distractions

So, then on an X and O basis right now, do the small point losses to both San Francisco and Kansas City improve the way the Cowboys are now seen. Beings that both are in their respective AFC and NFC Championship Games? Shouldn't it, now the strengths of both teams have been shown on top shelf levels?

Realistically no other GM would have lasted half as long with the same results. Jerry keeps the job because he owns the team.

Well…since the Cowboys last even played in a conference championship, the Rangers have won two American League championships, appeared in 2 World Series…the Mavericks have won 2 Conference championships, an NBA championship…and the Dallas Stars have won 3 conference championships, appeared in 3 Stanley Cup Finals, and have won a Stanley Cup once.

Comparing the Cowboys to their Dallas counterparts in other sports is even more of an indictment than just the last 26 years.

Doesn't matter. Jerry's Stockholm Syndrome victims will just come up with another rationalization.

I didn't know how the OP's thread was going to go but once I saw "Stop saying" I knew those that were saying would not stop saying and probably a couple who hadn't said anything would start saying.

Just a word of advice to Demboyz, never start your thread title with an order. Here, that is akin to making eye contact.

the weakness areas were not addressed - DL , Safety , add LB to it also because stupid Jaylon pick and LVE injury.

the OL weaknesses are also not addressed , replacement for LG and center (after Fredrik) , declining fatso Collins and injured Tyron at tackles .

Jerry hasnt done his job as GM.

Good isn’t good enough obviously. His biggest mistakes are overpaying his own guys and caving. Zeke the most glaring example.

zeke was a dumb pick. Perfect example of him blowing the pick and the resigning.

Let me rephrase...Jerry hasn't done a GOOD job as GM. Yes Jerry has made some good moves as GM, and being generous, possibly an equal amount of bad moves. As Bill Parcells said "You are what your record says you are"....and sadly GM Jones's has a record of ZERO Lombardi trophies since 1996.

You just countered your own thread on why Jerry hasn't done his job. "Now we just need a head coach that can take us over the top" Thats been the problem the last 25 years:facepalm:
