Saying the Cowboys were not one of those two teams is just a diversion. It does not conclude that while the Cowboys were not one of those two teams it may be the other of those two teams. ;)
Not that I think it will happen this year, but I agree that, with the fact he specifically said the Cowboys were not one of those teams, he could be eliminating any "tampering" complaints the Saints could make should he at some point end up coaching the Cowboys in the future.

Cleaver wording that most folks do not pick up on. ;)

How is that confusing to you? Saying the Cowboys are not one of the two teams is just talking about one of the two teams. But there are two teams and the Cowboys could be the other one.

Sean would be closest thing to a God in that City if NY signed him. They might Knight him . My Gosh..lol
Yep. Particularly since it would be like stealing him away from the Cowboys. Parcells was a god to them and still is, but he did lose some converts when he became the Cowboys’ HC.

Smokescreen! Jerry and Payton must be trying to keep it quiet to not look too suspicious

It’s pretty clear that Jerry knew last week when he did the interview that there was potential that Payton would be leaving the Saints. He probably knew from back channels and he didn’t wanna back mm publicly then.

that’s probably why we got such a hard line stance from Jerry and why he didn’t back mm - just in case Payton was an option

I did and he didn’t say the cowboys weren’t one. He said no that’s where it’s going to stop meaning he’s not answering that question. Watch at the 1:35 mark

Thank you for sharing this.

I think Dan Patrick was right about the Cowboys being one of them. I’m sure Jerry has sent out ‘feelers’. And I’m also sure that everyone else in the organization knows it, including McCarthy.

100%. I know Jerry was pissed but I can promise you if there wasn’t a chance at Payton last week that Jerry knew about he would have publicly backed mm on the fan.

Or maybe the Cowboys are actually BOTH of those teams!

Maybe Jerry and Stephen are both calling him.

Since Dallas has been linked to most of the rumors, that Sean denying their involvement in back channel discussions makes sense. It would just about confirm the two sides have been flirting with the idea of a move here.

Everybody knows it. Going on the record, though, about the whos and whens right now in an interview could become problematic, particularly if a certain marriage ever came to fruition.

imagine the giants getting Payton and signing Wilson at the Qb position? Media hype would be through the roof

Exactly. He never said there were two teams and Dallas wasn't one of them. He said "no, that's where it stops." If anything it makes me more suspicious Dallas is one of them.

I'm pretty satisfied with the team's situation as it now stands. MM will be afforded the opportunity to prove himself and Payton will get time to arrive at his most desired destination. Oftentimes, rushing into things can bring on unfortunate results. I'm also very relieved to see Dan Quinn's return.

I bet Giants are 1 team. He was around Bill parcels. Dont forget that. They would be a Darkhorse.
I can see that, the Giants being one team, the one that's not the Cowboys. The Cowboys are not the Giants so it would be right to say The Cowboys are not one of the teams. ;)
