We’ve haven’t won division this era with 1st place schedule. Which means if we even get into playoffs will be 3 straight on the road. Won’t have to root against not making it. Not likely gonna happen.

Maybe. I think they waited until they were certain that could not get Payton this year. The timing is suspicious.

If Jerry doesn’t immediately give a presser in which he loudly proclaims “Mike is my guy”, the overreactors conjure up the worst case scenario, because they NEED something to fuss over.

No matter how anyone wished there would be a head coach change....you knew it wasn’t happening. Just not how Jones operates especially after a 12-5 season

Not sure what everyone expects, he literally had one year with the team (last year was a mulligan) and he had them in the playoffs. I don't think anyone thought we would be in the playoffs this year. If he is back in the playoffs again and wins at least one, I don't know how you can let him go. But fans will be fans. Coaches will never live up to expectations and neither will players.

The missing part of this reads as follows, from JJ himself:

"Seeing that we will not be able to convince Sean Payton to coach next year, and will not be able to giveaway the 4 1st round picks it would have taken to get him, we are very happy to announce that Big Mike has our full confidence and will remain as Head Coach next season".
