Hopefully Jethro will pay attention to how they turned this around by making bold moves in FA and blockbuster trades not satisfied with just a playoff team.

They took a chance mortgaging the future to win now. This is definitely a model our owner could follow . And could be the best path to bringing in more talent to get over the hump, now.

They understand the significance of a quality QB and as you said gave the house for one.
Take one and done and that is the highest level we will ever reach with this inept offense!
P.S. Stafford will be wearing an SB ring about 2 weeks from now.....

Sure, but they are smarter organization with smarter people making football decisions. Jared Goff got them to a super bowl. Think about that........ Do you think Jerry would have traded away a super bowl QB AND thrown in draft picks for Stafford? Hell no. He would have given Goff a huge new contract the day after the super bowl to show the world the confidence he has in the QB.

It's damned if you do, damned if you don't. Jerry and Stephen used to do that and get highly criticized for it. We have also brought in notable free agents over the past several years and it backfired or we couldn't keep them because they
understandably they were on one year contracts or were injury prone. The problem may be we bring in bottom of the barrel free agents to avoid mega spending. So maybe it's about selection.

What do we have to lose ?
We don’t need a major turnaround. What we need is smarter football players. I’ve always said give me a handful of superstars. And the rest intelligent football players. And I’ll win a championship. It’s about team team team.

Football players win championships, not superstars. Although you do need one or two. We don’t have football players we have undisciplined wannabes

rams will go a full decade without a first round pick. Insanity. But apparently it works.

Its got nothing to do with spending money. If Jerry had no salary cap, he would buy us a super bowl. We would have no budget........ like in the 90's when we were winning. But Jerry voted against that system in favor of one with a salary cap structure. Every team has the SAME cap dollars they must spend. The issue is how you spend those cap dollars. We are not good at making those decisions b/c we have nobody in the front office with a high football IQ.

same post every year around this time. Someone takes a SB team and says lets copy them.
I actually dont like the Rams buying their way in-draft will be tough for them next few years and they dont have a #1 till 2024. Stafford really isnt a qb I would build around.
they almost lost that game-would u still use them as a model if they did?

doesnt matter anyway-as long as we have Jerry we're going nowhere

It's easy to give up lve for Ramsey. But they also gave up the chance to get a Micah too.

History shows us they prefer to only use late round picks to take chances on vets. We don't load up to make a run, we hang on and see what happens. They brought in obj to an offense that features kupp regardless of how teams try to stop him. And they bring in weddle just in case. Our big move was signing Clements and giving him 2 carries a game while he outperforms an injured Zeke.

Ask Seattle if that worked? I believe you surrendered a top 10 pick for Adams. It rarely works as teams aren't usually 1 player away. Rams were fortunate that they missed out on going to GB and not seeing the Chiefs in the SB.

I think it’s more about thinking outside the box then buying a Super Bowl. Rams made risky decisions and it paid off, KC rebuilt their entire OL in one off season and made it to the AFC championship… you can’t keep doing buisness the same way and think you are going to get different results….TB went and got Brady, Gronk and won a Super Bowl, Rams went and got Stafford and got a Super bowl…it’s about thinking outside the box something the Cowboys organization is not willing to do….

Rams, Bengals, Buccaneers and Chiefs all replaced not quite good enough QBs with elite QBs. So the path to success has already been revealed.

We"ve been told many times on CZ that signing an elite veteran or drafting a QB with elite talent is not the way to go. The evidence says otherwise.

Yes, but Tampa and LA these two years didn’t just go out and sign a veteran Qb, they brought in several proven talents.

Yep, you’d think an owner with a history of risk taking would take a look at how these last two Super Bowl teams quickly turned their teams around.
