And for all the posters who come on here who complain about the speed of our wrs, I give you Cooper Kupp and his 4.62 speed.
A very good point. Not making a comparison but Jerry Rice was not a blazer either for most of his career and DBs could not catch him from behind.

"Football speed" is real. Some receivers have it and some do not. The best part for those who own it is their route running and securing practically catchable ball thrown at them. The latter quality is underrated because every pass is not always perfect.

Funny how the media still wants to put Kupp is the slot receiver/ Welker/Amendola/Beasley mold….

the “forward thinking” sports media wants to keep everybody in their assigned “buckets”……with the exception of Ryan Clark….he told it like it is and kept it 100 about Kupps ability

……and some players continue to be discounted and draw single coverage even in a record breaking season

He did miss one right in the hands that was an easy TD. Could have cost them but didn't. Great player

He has excellent football speed. He is always running away from coverage and defenders on his way to the end zone. He's been phenomenal.

I just love his route running. So crisp. Precise.

Some of the best WRs did not have blazing speed: Jerry Rice, Mike Irvin, Steve Largent (remember him?), Charlie Joiner, Julian Edelman, Drew Pearson.....their routes were great.

Largent had deceptive speed. I remember a number of Seattle games wondering how the heck did he get that open?

Not buying Kupp is a 4.6 guy, must have been sick that day.

As we know we see a lot of "quick in space" types like Beasley, Renfrow, Edelman, Amendola etc, but we rarely see a white burner a guy who can go the distance at any time. Those who could....

Don Maynard Jets
Roger Carr Colts
Sonny Randle Cards
Bill Groman Oilers
Lance Alworth Chargers
Don Hutson Packers

Were all sprinters on college track teams. Alworth a running back.at Arkansas.

Jordy Nelson and Chris Collinsworth were state 100 yard champs.

Kupp really is amazing, and another stud WR out of a small school, and......faster than 4.6.

Burrow. He means more to that team than just about any other player on any other team.

Rodgers and Brady were more valuable to their teams but Kupp’s production has resulted in more team success. It’s an interesting argument.

I got curious about comparing Kupp to Jerry Rice, big mistake, yes the guy had a great season but...

Rice was All Pro...10 years in a row, had over 1000 yards 10 years in a row. Sure got things in perspective real quick.
