bahah, of course they are, they made the SB. And they will pay dearly over the next 5 years.

The bucs provided no road map to anything. They lucked out when Brady dropped in their laps. There was ZERO they did for such a windfall. And just as quickly as their fortunes turned from garbage to gold, they are about to go back to garbage.Unless Rodgers or DeSean Watson drops in their lap.
And you’re saying Cowboy fans wouldn’t have traded places with either teams for their fortune regardless how short lived it may be?

One team LUCKED out. There was no great moves made by the front office. Brady picked where he wanted to go.

Rams get the credit... but they also lucked out that the DB literally dropped a fair catch punt.

I actually like the Niners model better. They had every chance 2 win the game with what they do. Rams are lucky 2 have won. Cincy will give them hell because they do what the niners do, run great and play great D. What is scary, Cincy has a great QB and they have balance. Rams better be on their A game.

That int doesn’t end the game . Would have been like a punt. It doesn’t matter. That’s all you have for your narrative .

They still made the championship game with it regardless which is beyond anything we’ve done.

But you’d defend Jethro’s ways instead .lol

Hopefully Jethro will pay attention to how they turned this around by making bold moves in FA and blockbuster trades not satisfied with just a playoff team.

They took a chance mortgaging the future to win now. This is definitely a model our owner could follow . And could be the best path to bringing in more talent to get over the hump, now.
When you overpay your QB, you’re strapped from doing a lot of things, not to mention Dlaw,Amari, and Zeke too.

The Rams went all in this year and so far it’s paid off we’ll see where they end up after this season. Jerry isn’t about to give up all his first round picks in the next few years.
Yep ! That’s why we will never be in a super bowl !

True, but they went all out to get to the Super Bowl and succeeded. They might crater in a few years but that isn't bothering anybody that's a Rams fan tonight.

I would sacrifice the next 26 years for the Cowboys to win another title. Because I've been doing that since 1996 anyway.
That - and if the 49ers safety catches that INT in the fourth quarter we are taking about what a massive failure their gambles were
Almost 10 minutes left in the game , Rams down by only 3

While I certainly think there’s more then one way to skin a cat I definitely don’t think the Rams are a model for anyone. They have badly mismanaged their teams resources, both draft capital and cap space littering draft picks all over the place and incurring sunk costs by cutting players they traded for early on in their contracts. They have made a lot of mistakes.

With that said, despite this mismanagement, they have managed to make two Super Bowls with this philosophy and that’s obviously more then can be said for Dallas. If they don’t win it all this year though, the past will come screaming down on them and they will have little recourse for change.

I think Dallas should utilize free agency more then they have, but I think the Rams’ model is incredibly risky, and fails miserably far more often then it is successful, and generally, the consequences are long lasting.

And why would the fall outs be any more concern than our current reality?

Because we can retool pretty easily with what we have, and they cannot with no draft picks until 2025.

I guess my point is, that we don’t need to change our philosophy of roster building, because I think it’s pretty sound. Our problems lie elsewhere. I think the Rams’ choices carry a lot more risk, despite the fact they made the super bowl this year.

Our roster building hasn’t been sound enough. Our problems lie in the core weaknesses of our roster building. Along with culture .

The Rams choices do carry more risk but the rewards can certainly warrant.

My bigger point is that if our current process isn’t achieving our goals what do we have to lose . I’m surprised our ownership wouldn’t entertain as such. It seems right up his alley .

I’m not saying we should do this now but at some point we might consider.

Good god, ya'll.
th

You fooling me, yes?
Jerry is naturally inclined to keep aging, declining, oft-injured past-their-expiration-date players.
No big FA moves.
Few consequences.
No accountability.

,,, Look at the clowns we have returning in 2022! Fat Mac, Mr. Ed and Dak. All with a vote of confidence from the Jones.

Jerry won't change, me mate.
Good chap, here is the downer: When Jesus takes Jerry, Stephen will stay the course.
He has learned well from Jerry.
