Next season is just another wasted stuck in purgatory season?

They had a deal in place in 2019 so it's more likely than not.

You have no idea what's more likely than not 4 years (or more) later.

Payton has since gotten remarried and retired from coaching. There's no guarantee if/when he'll ever coach again.

..I actually feel will be good again. Problem is, what will be done about fundamentals? Those are the little things that kills this team.

Yes. Fundamentals—new OL Coach, grab some OL, DT, S. Tweak the playbook. Change kickers. Just another opinion.

Yes. However, the culture was different under Bill Parcells. They were disciplined and prepared. Not sloppy and self destructive which happens under puppets like Wade, JG, and MM. Sean Payton is a Parcells guy. Jerry knows that he will only come here under his terms not Jerry's terms. They had a deal worked out in 2019 so Jerry must have agreed to Payton's terms.

No it wasnt. It was the same bs its always been. 04 was a huge let down after showing up for the playoffs for first time in 5 years.

It's gonna be another long off season of hearing the same whining we hear every off season. We've heard them all, so those of you who insist on the same whining and griping, move on to another team. Choose on that is wins every single game, every year including the super bowl! Save us the whining.

How about you give up your Cowboy fanship and go cheer for the team that wins the Super Bowl this year.
Can we just be honest? Acceptance is one of the first steps to acknowledging. Or is it acknowledging, then acceptance? Either way, this train wreck continues. This is like a rigged contest at the County Fairgrounds. Taking fans money and hopes without any conscious......about the hoodwink.

If you have to have a SB, then yes, I assume it is.

I hardly call a 12 win season and a sweep of the East by over 20 PPG a season in purgatory.

Ya know you can still like the movie even if you don't like the ending.

We've been 'hating the ending' for over 25 years. Enough of liking the movie.

Unless the head coach has full control of his staff I don't care who it is. Need a coach all in. Mike won't even help his OC who clearly needs help.

Fundamentals, discipline, attention to details....you're correct.

Same coaches, less talent, and a first place schedule.

Anyone wanna guess the ending of this predictable movie?

It was very disappointing the way things ended but not at all unexpected.

Dak will have a full off-season to have worked on his game rather than having to rehab his injury . I'm hoping this gets his eye of the tiger back.
Zeke should be healthy by next year because I'm sure we're going to be forced to use him whether it's best for the team or not

We have a harder schedule next year and the eagles have three first-round draft picks. I may be wrong but I believe the Commanders have two first round draft picks and the Giants have a new coach.

Looks like everybody in the division has an opportunity to get better as far as we go I don't know if we get better but at least we can hope to start healthy.

If the coachs is on this team can get their act together and clean up all mistakes we have going on in the basic fundamentals of our football team there is no reason why the playoffs are not an attainable goal

MM will be back so it will be the same crap. Penalties, poor clock management, and wasting a lot of talent. Everyone seems to be more excited about Sean Payton in 2023 and is conceding that next season will be more of the same crap. Can we just fast forward 1 year so the majority of us can finally be optimistic about this team?

McCarthy teams have not been known for a lot of penalties, Dallas had way to many this past season but this is non sense to act as if all McCarthy teams are heavily penalized.

Saints played the 5-12 Panthers and the 7-10 Falcons. twice each. Also played the 3-14 Jags, 4-13 Giants, 7-10 WFT, 4-13 Jets and 7-10 Seahawks.

Going 9-8 with that schedule is no great feat, Dallas played a similar schedule and went 12-5. Hill is no top NFL quarterback, Kamara, for as much love as he gets, has never had a 1,000 yard rushing season, has played every game only once in his years in the league. And he's pretty much their entire offense these days.

You might be right, unless Payton does coach the Cowboys we'll never know but I'm not convinced he'd be an instant winner in Dallas...
still they were 9-8. and you can pretty much go through and do the same for almost all the playoff teams.....

as you said we played Giants, WFT twice, Atlanata, carolina, vikings,
GB played, Detroit twice, vikings twice, chicago twice, and the seahawks and if saints aren't that good, then they also played the saints should we say 13-3 whoopdie doo?
rams played chicago, giants, seahawks twice, detroit, vikings...I guess we shouldn't be impressed

bengals played Jax, chicago, vikings, lions, and over rated browns twice.

its the NFL. almost no game is a given and coming up with a winning record at the other end is tough and good

But we went 12-5, if Payton is so good he should have done near the same. And as we all know (sarcasm here) Dak is terrible, so for Dallas to go 12-5 MM must be a fantastic coach!

Sorry, I'm just not impressed with a one game over .500 result while playing a schedule that, as you note, you could do with most teams.

No doubt Payton is a very good coach, but most SB winning coaches do it early in their head coaching career, Payton hasn't been to one since 2009, even with Brees, a tough defense most years and receivers like Michael Thomas.

But I appreciate your response...

I still think Moore was pressed on him so he’s letting the kid go down on his own
