In this league.....and especially NFC East...you HAVE to run the dang ball.

But running three times up the clogged middle with our QB literally tripping over the center before the handoff then claiming the run game don;t work....

probably isn't a good run game plan. It doesn't mean stop running. It means figure out a run game we can do. Pollard showed us what a play IN SPACE can do. We DIDN'T go back to the something that worked.

Moore is an idiot.

We did run the ball against the East and when Zeke was fit we were successful in doing it. All of us agree that Pollard should of been given the ball more, however, I doubt we had many outside running plays with Zeke being our primary carrier (hopefully that's changed for 2022).....and then we'd have another Coop scenario where the costly veteran complains about lack of opportunities. It's also a problem having two distinct running backs which doesnt really mask the type of running play

The whole running game was compromised as soon as it was evident that both Zeke and Dak had lost mobility and didnt pose a risk coupled with the fact and that we had a real weakness at LG (and ave at best Center).

It's also not a coincidence that the run game fell apart once we had to start chasing games.

If you want to get rid of Moore it'll be because he can't devise passing plays which Dak can execute.

I would not go that far.. I think Moore is a pretty smart guy.. but lots of pretty smart people freeze up when taking exams.. That's what games are for OCs.. they're the end of the chapter exam for exam for this week's chapter of the book. There are two things working against our running game.. Lack of diversity in the plays we call and obviously the lack of good blocking.. We are weak up the middle so the insistence on 90% of our running plays being right up the middle is mind boggling. The fact that none of our tight ends can even slow down a decent edge rusher is an indictment on the people choosing the players.. but again that's on Moore.. He should know that his running plays need tight ends who excel at sealing off the back side.. He should have insisted on having one on the roster.. But you only need a good blocking tight end if you actually plan on running the ball...ergo......
I wish I had followers that loved me the way you love that man. . . you just truly and genuinely love him with all your heart

I thought Mr. Yards are yards was Dak. . .

You get the grand prize for Spin . . . all the problems that are now unanimously attributed to Dak you just put on Moore.

You opened up with all the amazing stats that Moore generated with Your Dakuliciois and now you are claiming that was Nothing a non factor

Amazing

If these players are not going to execute the plays any better, does the OC really matter? What other OC's do not call errant throws, drops, missed blocks and penalties?

Lemme help you.. Zeke has had two games in his career with at least 30 carries.. he had 140 yards in one and 153 yards in the other.. He only even made it to 20 carries twice in 2021.. and topped 100 yards in both games.. They got him to 20 carries 11 times in 2019 and 2020.. he hit 100 yards 8 times in those games.. So in the last three seasons.. when the Cowboys have managed to stick to the run long enough to give him 20 carries.. he has hit the century mark 9 times out of 13. And the Cowboys have won 9 of those games.. Including the two this season.. Seems like to me that would be compelling evidence that they need to get dude the ball. I can half excuse them for this year because of the knee injury.. But frankly letting him play with that thing is yet another nail in the Moore coffin if you ask me. At some point doesn't the OC need to step in and say I need my running back to be able to actually run? But Moore never did.. because he had no intention of running the ball anyway... They could have trotted 52 year old Emmitt out there for all he cared.
Not enough respect for the truth on here.

When we get the man the ball.. he delivers.. when he delivers.. we win. It is a simple bloody equation.

But nope.. Moore and Dak want to make us a passing team.. and it fails miserably. Quicker we get away from Dak and Moore, the better.

Imagine what Zeke and Pollard could do with a HC/OC that believed in the run game...

Why anyone who looks directly at numbers without content behind them is a fool. Sounds like some on this forum arguing for or against certain players.

Dumpster fire division, 2nd easiest schedule, is only a tip of the iceberg

that it doesn't matter who the OC is he will be limited with what he can do because his QB is limited in what he can do.

I don't know.

I wonder about the relationship between Dak and Moore.

They came into the league together. Is Moore Dak's coach or his junior? Does Dak even listen to what Moore has to say?

Is Moore coaching up Dak? Does he even have the experience to coach Dak?

Maybe there is a coaching structure that could help Dak succeed more often in the big games?

He just isn't ready. Honestly he became OC before he was ready. What Moore needs is help from someone who gives a dam and can also draw up game plans. Unfortunately he has Mike who is absolutely no help to the kid.

The problem with consistently running the ball in this offense is that when you end up in 2nd or 3rd and long the odds are very much stacked against a conversion with this QB. He did run the hell out of the ball when it was working early in the season.

I'm not a big Moore fan but he has to overcome his own inexperience and some significant personnel issues.

I wouldn't hire him as a HC based on the former alone.
that's why running the ball effectively and not constantly being in those long yardage situations is key.....then defenses can more easily predict the play and defend it easier. runnning effectively on first downs is key to many offenses, specially ours....

Moore is still learning. I argued this last year, I argued this over this past summer. he is green. he may be innovative, but you don't go to wonder boy over night, you have to pay your dues. even Mcvay went through years of learning as position coach. he wasn't an over night sensation (like moore going from back up, to QB coach, to OC in one year span...

he made mistakes early on in the year. DC having enough tape on him, figured him out. good experienced OC adjust and he didn't.

its obvious MM has been told to be hands off with Moore and that's not fair to Moore

Even if I agree with you that there were execution issues there can be no denying that there were also glaring schematic issues. That first run against the Cardinals when the center ran away from the middle linebacker and Dalton Schultz was supposed to take Chandler Jones leaps immediately to mind. Any play where a one legged Zeke is lined up like a wide receiver is another glaring example. Moore set these guys up to fail so many times it aint even funny. How many times did we call the deep ball to our NON speed receiver? Or run our change of pace back smack dab into the middle of a clogged line?

And put us out of this misery. It should be very instructional to the Cowboys brain trust that this team had the #1 scoring offense and the #1 offense in yards and yet nobody is interested in hiring the architect of that greatness. They were also #1 in yards and #6 in scoring in 2019, his first season. And I believe they were #1 in both categories in 2020 before Dak got hurt. Up until this year we blamed the defense for not reaching the mountain top with all this great offense going on.. But what we learned this year, and really should have known all along, is that this offense pads its numbers against patsies and mostly fall flat when facing the big boys. Good DCs can handle this offense and it becomes a matter of the guys being super human for it to succeed. Obviously that's no way to make a living.

These aint the 90's Cowboys.. Those guys could go super human even against good teams.. hell against other GREAT teams.. and make no mistake.. those 90's Packers, 49ers and Bills were great teams.. The Cowboys were just greater. But those guys don't play for this team. These guys need help .. in the form of the OC.. and the bottom line is I don't think Mr. Yards are Yards is the answer. He doesn't want to run the ball.. he doesn't want to feature one receiver or focus on favorable matchups. He wants to "take what the defense gives us.." Which works when the defense sucks.. but good defenses give you crap.. And you can have all the crap you want.. cause you aint winnin no games with it.
Kellen Moore has the #1 offense in the NFL how can he be the problem? Stats say he's a great OC. Jerry is a great evaluator of talent, and if he handpicked KM the offense is in good hands. ;)
