I saw the Strongman competition and it was classic Larry Allen the Intimidator. he went first and took the wind out of every other NFL star competitor. None got close and he just sat there watching them and enjoying he show.

I also saw the interview with Justin Tuck and how Larry Allen would pump his hand up and down and make train whistle sounds to indicate that Emmitt was about to run behind him. He would tell the defensive line where the ball was going and it didn't matter. D-linemen would fake injuries so they didn't have to go up against them. Tuck said his Giants teammates would cheer for him if the Cowboys gained 5 yards behind Allen. They considered that a victory.

And that INT tackle by Allen when he raced across the field to catch the LB. You'll never see anything like that again.

Allen was discovered by a scout named Tom Ciskowski. Tom came to Dallas through Jimmy Johnson. He heard all kinds of stories about Larry. In one college game he injured three defenders in a single play just blocking them.

He is truly a legend. Only those who actually saw him play could possibly believe these stories....but they are true.

The guys on today's cowboys offensive line were half as dedicated to training as Larry Dak would have all day to throw and Zeke would be able to get 5 yd of carry even with his injured leg

Madden said once during a broadcast in the early 2000s that there were only two people in the league at the time who he thought were the best to ever play their positions. One was Jerry Rice and the other was….Larry Allen.

As long as we are indulging in fantasy....Larry Allen + Tyron Smith in their prime seasons.
Add Erik Williams when he was at the top of his game.

Yes, love Allen but was a Big E fan, when you have Reggie White crying and whining after a game, you are the man. Remember the Big E saying I am not a dirty player after that game. Lol

OK board, I have a valid question for you all...

How would Aaron Donald, who is supposed to be one of the greatest of 'all time' greats now, do, up against Larry Allen?

I'll just say now, taps would be played following that game, and it wouldn't be for Larry!

Donald is good but against LA in his heyday, match goes to LA. The man was just bigger and stronger and just as fast.

Other than special teams I don't know if there's a position in all of football harder to take over a game than offensive guard. You never touch the ball, you've got 4 other guys on the line who can ruin a play if they don't do their job and you're just in there trying to move 300 pound men while also looking to make sure the 240 pound guys behind him don't slip past, it's thankless, brutal, and Allen made it look effortless week after week. He's probably the most positionally dominant player I've ever seen

I kinda think Erik Williams was still better and he probably changed the game more because Erik Williams was so illegal they made the hands to the face penalty specifically because he was that illegally good. But Larry Allen was legit.

I always loved the video of Justin Tuck talking about how Larry Allen would point his finger at you and let you know he was coming. He was so strong, there was nothing you could do about it. Lol

I miss those cowboy teams. We had some genuine tough guys. Allen and Erik Williams were as tough and mean as they come. Most here don't remember Erik Williams, but he was going to be the GOAT before his car accident. Madden use to gush about him mauling people all game. Reggie White could do nothing against him. Give me pre-1994 Erik Williams over any OT in NFL history.
