And yet you wont; admit Tony elevated some very mediocre players game. So don't give us the silly lip service garbage. You;ve been objecting to it for pages now...but SUDDENLY you claim to "defend him more than dak"? BS.
I do think he elevated players. I just don't think Austin is the best example of that.

Laurent, yeah absolutely.

Guess Ken never knew much about Andre afterall, and why I knew he wouldnt even know the basics about Andre if he didnt even know who the "Road Grater" was.
Yeah i have no clue about him.

Sorry i didn't meet your minimum criteria for Gurode knowledge even though I know all about him....

That is a lie. Of course you can "make players better" without winning playoffs.

Making players better has nothing to do with playoffs. We can HOPE it would. But it doesn't mean it HAS to.
You statement encapsulates the Romo Era....Not even good enough for Ring Of Honor and according to Dak Haters a Bum took down another one Romo's Record....Franchise TDs:laugh:

Elite Players don't have their Franchise Records broken by lesser Players:lmao2:

Whatever...I'm out dude. Have fun.

You are not interested in honest conversation or backing up your (false) accusations (lies).

Take care and have a good day!
They just keep taking their L's and exiting stage left lol

I loved Romo and defended him MORE than Dak.

Dak doesn't need as much defending lol

Gurode was dumb as a stump and was bad until Parcells got hold of him. To degrade him when Romo got blitzed unmercifully up the middle after he was gone until we got Frederick is revisionist history at its finest.

Gurode was an inconsistent center and he was not playing well at all in 2009 or 2010. Which is why we were okay with allowing him to go after 2010. He started to have his hiccups in 2007. Adams and Gurode nearly got Romo killed plenty of times in 2009. This is the season you THINK the offensive line was good, it wasn't. It was beginning to fall apart and the age of the players were showing. So I will repeat: from 2009 to 2013 Romo had poor or inconsistent pass protection. You suggested the majority of Romo's career was behind a good offensive line. This is wrong, you are wrong and I want you to admit to it.

You being persistent and stubborn doesn't mean you are taking Ws. Imagine poor debate skills and you screaming nonsense with little to nothing to back up said nonsense, and then when people roll their eyes and leave after you don't shut up you go "Wait, did I just win?". LOL this freakin' board, man.

I'll await for you to back up your claim that Romo had a good pass protection from 2009 to 2013 though. I would also like for you to admit that you can have two pro-bowl offensive lineman and still have bad offensive line play. Let's start there, see if you can admit to being wrong.

What arguing Romo vs Dak looks like to me.

Personally I don't really care how anyone feels about Romo, but I take issue with revising history. Acting as if Romo was playing behind a good line most of his career is just complete BS. This entire board was screaming for a better offensive line since 2009 - it's exactly what Garrett prioritized once he became HC.

2021--Dak (playoffs)
2006--Tony (playoffs)
2017--Dak
2009--Tony (playoffs)
2018--Dak (playoffs)
2008--Tony
2010
2013--Tony

Wow....this is a LIE!!!

Andre Gurode (Parcells Favorite) destroyed Al Johnson (Fan favorite) in training camp in 2006. Earned the starting job and made the Pro Bowl in 2006.

In 2007 Gurode signed a 6 year Deal $30M, Pro Bowl and ALL PRO Team 2

In 2008 Pro Bowl

In 2009 Pro Bowl and ALL Pro Team 2

After 2011 (Pre-season) Cowboys cut Gurode because he had Off-season surgery, wouldn't take a pay cut and wouldn't have been ready for Camp 2011

The Myth of Romo is DEAD!!!

Pretty sure it was Road Grader. If memory serves.

I didn't see this until i saw someone elses response. Just so you know, I am not like Mountain Cowboy who just joined in the last year...i was on this board Day 1 and with the previous board for YEARS on the MouthOff Sports board.
You think I dont know who you are, I know everyone in this house.
No need to explain.

Lets all get along and throw down some solid Cowboys narrative always... it attracts both the haters and Lovers and everybody in between as well.
We all learn in this forum, this house, this family,, if we keep our ears open as much as we keep our eyes open,, if that makes any sense then bless you.

Parcells left after 2006, genius. I said Gurode's play started to become inconsistent in 2007 and finally his age began to show in 2009 and he was ultimately let go after 2010. Nothing at all said here takes away what I said. He was not a great player in 2009 and he certainly wasn't in 2010. If you want to see how much his play slipped, go watch him and Adams get dominated in the Vikings game.

That is also ONE player. How was Flozell Adams? Colombo? How was Davis?

Sorry, I don't buy into the "they were all slipping" theory. The numbers bear that out with how successful the team was offensively. Obviously we are not saying these are 2016, 2007, or 2014 level lines that were the best in the league. We are saying these are likely top 10-12 lines at worst in the seasons we have outlined.

To say that the 2009 line was bad is just laughable.

Obviously we can look at Dak's line this year. 2 pro bowlers and it is highly debatable whether Ty deserves that pro bowl nod or not. They also led the league in penalties as an OL.

But they were good enough to win with. They pass blocked AND run blocked, to me, better than what most would think.

How successful the team was offensively? Our offense wasn't dominating in 2009, we actually had a great defense in the second half of that season and our offense struggled early on. Romo got sacked 34 times. Who was giving up all those pressures?

And Tryon had his best grade since 2015 this year

But I guess we put more stock into "pro-bowls" now over sites that delve into analytics and study games rather than popularity contests.

Romo proved to me that he didn't have "it".

Dak has proven to me that he doesn't have "it".

I'd rather look for someone who can than stay with someone who can't.
