Everyone but Tank. Add Kelvin Joseph in his place.

Edit: he's on the list...add Cox. Tank has to go.

I don't know how much I could go forward with Lawrence and Gregory who would both be 30 next season. That doesn't mean I wouldn't want to keep them, it's just that right now they couldn't really be a part of the "core of players" I want to rebuild with going forward.

My list doesn't include an EDGE and I can't enter a name from the current team that I'm confident will be dominant over the next 4-5 seasons. Gregory had 5 sacks and 2 forced fumbles in the first 7 games of the season. He had a total of 1 sack and 0 forced fumbles in the remaining 10 regular season games. The total season was rather pedestrian. I can't include him although I would certainly want him at a reasonable price and I doubt that will happen.

At this point I feel the majority would be in their 1st to 3rd seasons, although not all.

My core of players would include Osa and Gallimore. The rookie and 2nd year player would be a big part of my DT rotation.

Parsons, Diggs, and Joseph go without saying.

On offense it would be Dak and Lamb. I'm not too sure about Pollard. I'm beginning to develop that "RB's are expendable and can be replaced" attitude.

How many more seasons will Martin be able to play at a high level? Will he be in the SB equation three seasons from now? My feeling is, YES! I think Martin will be one of those special O-linemen with a 12-15 season career. Currently, he just completed his 8th.

That's my 8 players and I would hope to add more from the rookies and 2nd year players after the 2022 season.

  5. Gregory
  6. Pollard
  7. Gallimore
  8. Collins
  9. Lawrence

Good list, but I'd sub out Wilson with Kearse and add Osa.

Sorry but Parsons and Lamb are the only necessary pieces I see. I suppose you'd have to keep Dak because if the contract and maybe try to keep Pollard around.

Lmao, nobody is building anything off of Gregory, Lawrence,Wilson, Pollard, or Joseph. I swear people overrate our supposed talent so much it's ridiculous

The two teams in the Superbowl are there because they THROW the football! Same as the Bucs last year, Patriots all those years, even Foles beat Tom throwing for 400 yards and 3 TD's! We as fans should not care who is running the football for us as our O-line was top 5 in pass protection!!! WE HAVE TO THROW!! So...that being said, I LOVE MY COWBOYS, but for the rest of Daks contract, I am not very hopeful. He received his $ and things are changing for Dak. Throw Tad in there too!!!
No, they're in the super bowl because of their D.

Yep, as we are realistically dead in the water in 2022, we need to see what we have for 2023 or 24 and build around them rather than trying to just fit names into schemes.
On defense we've got one pass rush machine and an all or nothing ball hawk ...supplement and work the scheme to get the best out of them. We need another out and out pass rusher (and a FS).. we aren't in a league were Mahomes or Allen thrives on pressure.

The mistake I'm seeing is using players who are good right now instead of players to build around.

To build around:

Parsons: Obvious
Diggs: Obvious
Osa: Nice player
Bohan: Hopefully he can play
Galley: Looks like at the bare minimum a good rotational guy
Lamb: Might only be a #2, but a quality player nonetheless
Cox: Should be at least serviveable, and we need him to be
Joseph: Manalive, this cat better live up to his potential. We simply cannot afford another 2nd round snafu.
Shultz: Nice player, harder to replace than many think. However, cannot overpay.
Pollard: Yes, rotational RB, but dammmm effective!!!

The older guys should be shopped. I love Martin, but how long does he have left?

That's dangerous talk lol.

But it's correct, we need to look at 2022 with a realistic view about what we think we are and what's the best scenario for Zack, who's 31 and now getting $20m. If we dont think we're competing next year and with the CAP situation that's a distinct reality are we best served by keeping a 32 year old Guard, who with the restructuring would be close to getting $25m in Cap.....or trade him.

One injury and I hear that O-Liner's in their 30's tend to get a few and we're stuck.....I wonder what we'd get in a trade for him.

I know, right?

IMO, anyone around the age of 30 or older should be put on the block. Losing for a year would be a good idea anyway.
