It would be refreshing to see the award go to an O-lineman one year.

Sometimes I think the only way to show which player is most valuable is to see what happens when he can't play.

LOL, the award should go the player who was out for the season with an injury while causing his team to flatline for the remainder of the year.
'Plasticman': No offensive lineman will ever be awared the NFL MVP.
Since its inception by the Associated Press for the 1957 season, only three times has a player won that was not a QB or RB.
1971 - Defensive Tackle Alan Page, Minnesota Vikings.
1982 - Placekicker Mark Moseley, Washington R€d$k!ns
1986 - Linebacker Lawrence Taylor, New York Giants

Just goes to show that basing this award solely on the regular season is silly. Rodgers was so "valuable" his team scored 10 points and lost their only playoff game.

Joe Burrow resurrected a dormant franchise in Cincinnati and led them to the Super Bowl. No one was more "valuable" than him this season.

Tom Brady, the GOAT, only won three MVP awards.

But Peyton Manning was awarded FIVE.

Am i correct in assuming there are sober and clear thinking people out there that actually think Dak is better than Rodgers and they’d rather have Dak than Rodgers on this team??????

If you want to see what Elite looks like here it is!!!
Congrats on a job well done Aaron!

Yep!! He ELITELY chokes in playoff games and haven't done anything of significance without McCarthy. Glad he's not our quarterback....

But congrats on a job well done Aaron!! I guess....

The last two seasons, Rodgers has 2 MVP awards and 1 playoff win. Doesn't say much for the award, IMO.

Your obsession with Dak is well documented here. That you proclaimed Rodgers as "elite" - despite suffering the same fate as Dak - exposed it once more.

You congratulated Rodgers for accomplishing no more than Dak, because your obsession blinds you.

Joe Burrow was the 2021 MVP, and "thanks" for your all-too-predictable contributions.

:) Geez that post made me think of Moby Dak and Captain Pappy for some reason.

Yes and no. No doubt their defense was amazing . I agree to a certain extent. When that game was on the line in 4th qtr who led them to game winning drive ?

In the end this is a follow the ball league. And QB’s are considered most valuable and compensated accordingly. Until that changes don’t expect them not to be the most recognized.
You're basing this on one drive????(Back at ya!!!!!!!)

When you won 11 playoff games and have a Super Bowl Title, nobody reasonable would consider you a choker. All it takes is one ring.

Burrows didn’t perform at the same level throughout the season .

You’re going to use team accomplishments as only measurement? I’m sorry but thankfully that’s not how it’s done anymore than the HOF voting.

Umm ... wins/losses, playoff success and Super Bowls play a large role for QBs in Hall of Fame voting. Shouldn't because like you said, it's a team accomplishment, but it has historically and likely will continue to hold more weight than it should.

Thats true, but he's got to do better according to his skillset. You get to that many deep playoff runs and fail to reach the Superbowl??? You're a choker, there's no way to dress it up.

Trent Dilpher and Foles got a Superbowl ring... should A-Rod and those guys be mentioned in the same breath?? Did all 3 have the same expectations placed on them based on them equally??

He definitely deserves it, but I would have preferred to see Kupp win. You could argue all day which of Rodgers, Brady, Mahomes or Allen had the best season this year between each other. But there is no argument that Cooper Kupp had a historical year, and LA wouldn’t be where they are now without him.
good point, the whole it has to be a qb is kinda stupid.

It is also stupid to have just one overall MVP .
They should have 24, 1 for each def and off position, and a kicker and punter. They could make a show of that and make more money!!!!!!
Then more players that deserve kudos could get them.

In that scenario Micah would get a linebacker nod for mvp, anger might get punter I dont know. but those are the only 2 cowboys.

For qb, I think Burrows did the best, so I would vote him MVP

rodgers is arrogant, and has way too much money ( which makes him soft and lessens his desire to be in SB) I think he wants another ring,
but isnt willing to work as hard as he should.
Also his arrogance lets him think he can just show up and play and win.
