Garrett was a pass-happy coach before the Joneses made him bring in Scott Linehan in 2014 as offensive coordinator. They recognized in 2013 that they needed to run the ball more. We had the 31st-ranked offense in rushing attempts that year and 24th in yards. That's despite Murray rushing for 1,121 yards and 5.2 per carry and Callahan serving as the run game coordinator. We brought in Linehan and we were third-ranked in attempts and second in yards in 2014. We were first in both categories with Linehan as coordinator in 2016. In Moore's first year as coordinator with Garrett as coach we were 13th in attempts and 11th in yards despite having Elliott and Pollard. ... And no, I don't want Linehan back. It's just one of the complaints against Garrett for years when he was the OC is that he didn't run the ball enough.
