The Cowboys would be comparable to Washington had they followed their lead with Cousins and let Dak walk. In the three full seasons Cousins was the starter in Washington they had one losing season. In the 4 seasons since he’s left they haven’t had any winning seasons and have already wasted a first round pick on a QB that lasted only two seasons. Their record with Cousins as the full-time starter was 26-21. Their record since he left 24-41 and they’re still looking for a QB.

Yes very similar career trajectories. Both their careers started bright, lulled a bit during the franchise tag years, and they’ve been pretty disappointing since being paid.

Actually Cousins didn't start too bright. He was 26-30-1 in Washington before signing with Minnesota and he's still just 60-61-2 as a starter. Dak is 53-32 as a starter; and even if you take away his out-of-nowhere 13-3 rookie record he's still a solid 40-29 since.

I believe it's pretty obvious that Dak has played on better teams the majority of his career.

Well this goes back to my main defense of Dak- it takes an entire team to consistently win games; and unless the quarterback is tossing three pick-sixes every game it's hardly ever just his fault. Dak is like 95 percent of starting quarterbacks in this regard. Cousins has been the same guy on two teams basically.

To illustrate my point, Matthew Stafford, Lions or Matthew Stafford, Rams? Detroit could never put together the coaching staff and roster around Stafford to help him get to the Super Bowl. I hope the Cowboys can do this for Dak someday.

Because worse QB's than him have rings. This can't be denied.

Had we let Dak walk after the 2020 season, instead of Parsons at #12 we might have selected Mac Jones. After what we saw from those two players this season how many would have been okay with Jones over Parsons?

We don't know how good Jones will eventually be. Right now he is a solid QB not on Dak's level, at least not yet. But I don't want to think about what the Cowboys defense would look like without Parsons.

If we are answering truthfully there’s no way in hell you take Jones over Parsons….hell at this point I don’t think there’s a player in this draft you take over Micah. Maybe that changes in the future….

Anyone that says they would is lying.

Right, we don’t know how good Mac Jones will eventually be. However, Parsons barring injury could end up being one of the all-time great defensive players. Even the biggest Dak hater would have a tough time giving up Parsons for Jones even if it meant saving a ton of money not having to pay Dak.
