I think it is about playing your best when it means the most. Both Rams and Cin did just that. Neither were top seeded teams but both played very good football when everything was on the line. Question do you think Rams and Cinn where the best teams in the NFL? Or did they catch fire at the right time? Personally I think both are talented teams so not trying to say they lack the talent but both were 4th seed teams but got hot at the right time.
They are very close to being the best teams in the NFL, yes. D. That's what really matters.

Way too many people rate teams only on star players and O.

Defense is important.

The loser of the last two SBs had a suspect OL going into the game and it cost them big.

Draft OL, DL & LB this year.

Best Defensive Tackles of the last 25 years:

Keith Tractor Traylor
Casey Hampton
Haloti Ngata
Warren Sapp
Chris Jones (already 50 sacks as a DT/3-4 3tech, only 27y/o)
Richard Seymour
Fletcher Cox
Gilbert Brown
Ndamukong Suh
Sam Adams
Vince Wolfork
Aaron Donald

What do they have in common? Every single one is a Super Bowl champion. There's coincidence, and then there's causality.

1000% ......it's why I've said a 1000 times, the first goal of every coach is get to the playoffs ( not Super Bowl ) or better, win the division amd let the chips fall. Once in, you damn near have to play perfect ball for 2-3 games to amke the big dance. Think about that, your opponent job is to force you to make mistakes, yet we had 14 unforced errors.....in a loser go home game. Just shows how we were totally unprepared for the big stage.

I agree, got make post season to have a chance and those teams who are making post season yearly will have the best chance since they have the most opportunities. I hope and yes expect Dallas to be in post season next year, how they are playing at that point will control the outcome. No doubt though this team needs to learn how to play big in big games which is something that did seldom this past season.

Offense wins championships
If rams defense was perfect score would be 0-0
need a field goal for it to be 3-0
offense

offense scores points, how do you win a football game
you score more points than the other team

let me put it this way
if your team has more points than the other team
you win the game

however, unfortunately if your team has less points than the other team
your team will lose

I don't believe that phrase. Had the Bengals put up 6 in the 1st quarter instead of 3, they would have won it. Can't go on one player making a play on defense on 4th down at the end of the game.

Just like Brandon Graham knocked the ball out of Brady's hand to stop the go ahead drive. The Egals recovered the fumble to run out clock and won their 1st Superbowl.

It's obvious in many games, one player's performance gave his team the championship.

and great defense limits what offense can do. KC offense put up points yet it was Cin defense that held them to 3 points in the entire 2nd half of the game. Last night game Rams limited Cin to what they could do on offense and sacked Burrow 7 times and was in his face for much of the game. No doubt most rules favor the offense more so than the defense
