Romo wasn't perfect..

But you seem to forget most of those untimely INTS came when the defense were bottom feeders and Romo "had" to play hero ball.

The defense of the Cowboys did not throw those picks.

No. To be elite you just have to be elite.

Eli Manning will never be as good as Tony Romo even though he has Superbowls.
Agreed. QB is one the positions for you get respect of your talent regardless of the team you play for.

Rivers had mediocre playoff results and played for a bottom 10 team in terms of popularity and yet the coaches and players still voted him to the day one pro bowl roster 8x because he had borderline elite talent. Nobody will say flacco or Eli are better QBs just because they had those playoff runs
His career numbers and the Super Bowl gives him a chance to get to the Hall of Fame.
As of right now he has zero chance. He doesn't have any accolades (never made the day 1 pro bowl roster, has never lead the league in any metric, no all pro selections, no mvp).

Umm, I'm just not there with Stafford. I mean, McVay got Jared Goff to the SB. I think more highly of the HC and his offensive scheme. Folks are dubbing Kupp as the best WR, and that's not true either. What a difference a good HC n GM makes.
I don't know if Kupp is the best WR, but he's good. Very good. Same with Stafford, he may not be elite but he's very good! While Rodgers, Mahomes and others were watching and wishing, Stafford went home with the W!
Congrats Matt!

That was a huge drop though.
Patrick Crayton didn't drop the ball. He just cut off his route...

Still doesn't give Romo the excuse to throw a Game ending INT in the EndZone to a double covered Terry Glenn....hello RW McQuarters

Kupp is not and Stafford is not that's a fact. McVay is elite. Donald is elite. I think we're all aware of which team won and went home with a dub. Trust, Rodgers n Mahomes are HOF already while Stafford isn't even close, so I doubt they any envy coming from those two. But, hey man congrats to the Highland Park dude, and the Refs.

The Rams won that game yesterday because of their DL performance in the 4th quarter. They simply overwhelmed Cincy's OL.

Stafford wasn't all that for most of the game. But at the end of the day, he was "good enough". So Kudos.

great analysis. Rams we’re going to score pts, refs may have helped to a degree on long drive but second half was Rams D delivered when it came to crunch time

He dropped a big one on 3rd down near the end of the 3rd qtr too. This one here at the 1:12 mark of this video, they show it a few times...

I was at this game in the same corner end zone he let up on his route in the end. :(

Stafford is a solid qb, but he's on the most stacked team in the NFL. Aaron Donald, Von Miller, Jalen Ramsey among others are arguably the best players at their position in the league or were at some point in their careers. Beckham and Kupp are great weapons, even though Beckham went out early. McVay is one of the best coaches in the league and he went to a superbowl with Goff. l feel like Stafford is probably on that tier of a Matt Ryan. He's not elite like Brady or Rodgers or Mahomes, but he can get it done with the right team around him.

Didn't say Stafford was elite or HOF, I said he was good, and he is. He didn't get to the SB and win it by not being good and he's wearing a ring to prove it.

Neither team played their A game.....someone had to win. Could have easily gone the other way around. Not particularly a SB to remember. Stafford and Burrow were average at best, but he made the big play at the end. Burrow didn't.
No great running stats at the super bowi . Just top level QB and a pressing defense . Dallas has not special QB like that but the defense is improving, although it cannot stop the run .Kyler Murray alone had a field day against the cowboys .

I'm surprised the announcers didn't make a bigger deal out of it, but to my eyes the second interception looked like a carbon copy of the first. Throwing two terrible passes, okay it happens, but to throw the same terrible pass twice, what are we doing here?!
The 2nd interception was a tipped pass.

We definitely had the talent to win those years. In 07 we were 3-0 in the regular season against the 2 teams that made it to the NFC title game and 2-0 in the regular season against the eventual Super Bowl champions. But the Cowboys faded down the stretch that season similar to what we saw this season. We had a great shot in 2009 after beating the 13-0 Saints at the Dome late in the regular season. We ended that season with back to back shutout wins. We had 2 MVP candidates in 2014 including the leagues leading rusher but we couldn’t get it done against a one legged Aaron Rodgers in the playoffs. A lot of the same issues the team had back then they continue to have today.
Yea, I thought 2014 was our best team this era. They were poised to at least make championship appearance. And we felt confident we could have won that since we’d already beaten Seattle that year.

But the catch that wasn’t basically ended our hopes. And unfortunately we never saw those Triplets take the field again together and Romo never finished another season.

I think most of us thought that core could have contended for years to come.

Stafford, Jimmy G, Foles, Goff etc...are examples that it doesn't take an elite quarterback to either reach or win the Super Bowl. It's all about the coaching because the 4 qb's mentioned, are from elite.

Although Foles just may fall under Elite being he defeated Brady!

Stafford threw the most ballsy, most insane crunch time no look pass on that final drive.
Like Aaron Rodgers said a couple years ago…Stafford was doing Mahomes stuff while Patrick was still at Texas Tech.
Biggest drive of his career and he does this. Pretty insane
