Well if you want to go there, Dennis Allen won most of their games, because they had a defense, last I checkb12-5 is better than 9-8.
Lol. Mike McCarthy literally wasn't at the game. Slight difference

If Payton gets "legitimate" control and calls the plays like he's always done I'll be a believer. The minute MM, a guy who has always called plays kept KM and let him run the entire offense let me know how things went down with him and Jerry. It can't be like that if Payton comes in.

Agreed. Any coach should ask for that. Otherwise you are set up for failure.

What a disaster. McCarthy does not sound happy at all.

Jerry's conduct since the end of the season has been a complete clown show.

I just listened to that interview. I had 2 thoughts.
1. When McCarthy said, "do we have an hour?", as his response to Rich's question of how he feels about Jerry's comments was really funny.

2. It sounds like Jerry's meddling/mouth/mental illnesses is more of a problem than what we imagined. No wonder we haven't won anything in 26 years.

Jerry is either a moron for undermining his head coach or a genius for motivating him, but I am going to go with moron.

Jerry is a moron either way, but if it motivates the big boy to be a better coach…..all the better

This is more evidence for what has been my take for a while, which is that Mike was Stephen's hire and that Jerry has never been completely on board.

He let Stephen make the hire, but the old bull isn't ready to be put out to pasture yet and from time to time he's going throw his weight around and let everyone know it's still his team. Because there's no way he'd treat his pet Garrett like this after his second year.

So what all did he say
he said he thought it was unusual, never had to deal with this before, and wished he didnt have to answer questions about it.
Then it said it was part of the landscape here, meaning it is dallas and jerry so you have to deal with stuff like this.

He said he wanted dan to stay also and was glad dan stayed.
he said he has talked to jerry about dan and peyton narrative, but would not say what was said.

he also said they didnt play their best football in wc game, and that losing like that will make them better. He also mentioned it is a process !! lol

Jerry hired Jimmy

Right and that was the best hire he made but he also ran him off. Jerry isn’t going to hire anyone who’s going tell him how to run his team. When Jimmy was here he handled the football side and Jerry handled the business side and it couldn’t have gone any better. Unfortunately the team isn’t run like that anymore because Jerry’s ego won’t allow it.

So ? You act like it never happens. What that have to do with goingb12-5
The number 1 seed with a HOF qb and MVP got bounced at home in their first game.
So? Well the heck are we doing any of this for? Are we not here to win Super Bowls? Lol what?

Also, who cares what anyone else does; other team’s failures does not ease the pain of our own. Of course I know it happens, but bc it CAN happen does that mean we’re cool with it when it does happen? Of course not. I’m not even sure what you’re getting at.

And that 12-5 record doesn’t mean jack; they showed that they were indeed a team that beat on weak opponents and got punched in the face against better ones.

I think Jimmy leaving was mutual at the time.

I think Jimmy leaving was mutual at the time.

It was a mutual parting of ways but Jerry’s meddling basically pushed Jimmy to want to leave. Jimmy wanted more control according to Jerry. If you watched A Football Life with Jimmy he talked about some of the stuff Jerry was doing that was getting on his nerves. Jimmy said Jerry took credit for a trade that he made. Jerry brought a prince into the locker room immediately after a game before Jimmy addressed the team and this pissed him off. Their egos finally clashed and they agreed to part ways. Ever since then it’s been Jerry’s way and we’ve seen the results.

If memory serves me, the 2019 Cowboys were the first team to finish top 10 in offense AND top 10 in defense yet fail to make the playoffs.

No one gets less out of more than Jerry's Cowboys. I wonder why? What is the constant? I can only imagine...

You won’t find many people as fat as Mike McCarthy that are that confident in their own skin.
