I mean hats off to them still they got the ring, but their team didn't really look unbeatable and looked like any other good team this year. 49ers should have beat them in the NFC Championship and the Bengals got a terrible call against them that would have made it 4th and goal from the 10 on their final drive. A few things went there way and that's why their Superbowl Champs.

The trades helped make them better but they got lucky.

Not a conspiracy theorist but it felt like the NFL wanted the Rams to go far this year so that they could succeed in Los Angeles.

Those who think that is the model to follow in order to win a Championship are mistaken.
Seems like you overlooked a pass interference call that should have negated a Bengal TD as well.

The Rams this year and Tampa last year are new models that won championships .

I will agree that neither LA or Cinn looked unbeatable. I think both teams illustrated how wide open this season was. No one was unbeatable .

But they made the most of their opportunity in the playoffs both knocking off previous SB participants in their own back yard. They say in order to be the best, you have to beat the best.

Giants winning in 2007 was much more a case of luck. Now holding the Pats to 14 pts was a huge thing and overall the key.

BUT

Assante Samuels dropping a pick that nine out of ten times he catches in the play before the Helmet Catch? That is luck.

Then the Helmet play. Made by a guy whose career pretty much ended there. Never did anything again; never caught another pass after that game and was gone from the NFL.

THAT is luck.

Interestingly enough, that game was similar to the last time the Bengals were in a SB. Two unimpressive teams, and Joe Monana leading a long last drive to score a TD for the win.

I'm not seeing the luck however. On the bad call, it was only bad because they weren't calling it all game. But it was the right call. In the 2nd down play before that, the RB was clearly held over of the middle preventing that pass. They didn't call it.

If anyone was lucky it was the Bengals for staying in the game. They should have been blown out. They got 2 interceptions, a free TD, and still couldn't win.

If Dallas played nobody but the rams and Bengals for 17 games they would be 0-17.

Considering that they did the least with the most, it still got them the Lombardi. They have the look of an All Star team that is built to win in the moment only. No chemistry or bond through long term team building. Just mercenaries for hire

the Bengals are built the old fashion way and should be a long term threat while the Rams will surely dismantle because of the contracts

Had nothing to do with luck....pretty easy to win when you got the league and refs in your back pocket...paving the way.

LA RAMS...SUPER BOWL LVI CHAMPS*

You will never convince me otherwise....

I think the Bengals had to have had a lot of luck on their side. They made it to the SB with that awful offensive line. 19 sacks in 4 playoff games. 9 to the Titans and 7 to the Rams.

I don't see luck, I see a complete team offense and defense who got the job done. Stafford was not perfect but he had a defense who could make up for mistakes. Stafford also made plays when they needed to be made, Kupp was Kupp we all know the ball is going to him and he continued to get open and make plays. I was pulling or Cinn but in the end Rams got it done, not luck

Right now, Lady Luck being favorable to us is the only blueprint/plan we have to win a SB with the Jones front office. (Whispering) They don’t know what they’re doing.
Yes and no. I’d argue they do know what they’re doing. Not all Cowboy fans have accepted it yet. And unfortunately continue feeding the beast.

If only everyone could hop on the same wagon to either run him out of town or hurt his pride with less butts in the seats of revenue . But we just can’t seem to force the issue with him. All we do is complain about the football results. Our bark is bigger than our bite.

I agree it's not the model.

But the Rams were very deserving.
The length of field TD on a non-call flagrant facemask is the only reason the Bengals were even in that game.
It changed everything for awhile

The Rams outplayed the 49ers in every way.
But the Rams dropped two interceptions and 49ers dropped one. The Rams also dropped a TD pass.

They
  • Won the toughest division
  • blewout Cards
  • beat Bucs
  • beat 49ers
  • beat Bengals

That's a nice run

Anyway...every single year there are many plays in the playoffs that go for the eventual champion. No excpetions.

They won the "tournament." No way this format in no way establishes the "best team" during a season. That went out when anyone except the 2 best records were allowed to play for the supposed "Championship."

Which simply shows that the DLine is the great equalizer in the playoffs. Both teams focused on the DLine in building their team. Makes them the best teams.

TB didn't look unbeateable and should've lost to GB in the championship game.

What you're saying, you can say almost every year.

but that's the point. most teams aren't overly dominant. its making enough good plays at the right time and pulling out a win. that's what they did.
