I would certainly include him in discussions. Trust is a big part of this sport. Dak favor seems to shift game to game. Schultz looked looked like a stud most of the season, then suddenly he would disappear. Maybe he no longer has chemistry with Coop (if so then I would move on). Wilson clearly became a favorite and one he felt comfortable with in pressure situations. Why resign Gallop if Dak prefers to throw to Wilson, for instance?

So I definitely think there is value to getting inside his head. Not necessarily letting him give input on the draft, but certainly on which players to resign.

No, Jerry should be seeking a refund from Dak and then show him the door. Why do fans love never winning a SB so much?
I agree, but that's not happening. But if he says to Jerry, "hey I sick of Coop not being available during practice all week", then we need to cut him. No sense keeping high priced targets that Dak doesn't throw to.

You're paying him $40 million, he's our leader. Should he be able to give his input on getting players here etc, give your thoughts please!!
If he says, draft me a TE, sure. Outside of that, absolutely not.

The answer is to throw to him more, not cut him.

All QBs have input. It's just never discussed.

Idk Becoming a starting QB for the Cowboys in the...NFL and pretty high on most people's list of QBs (except Cowboys fans) is something I guess. Not to menti9n that's what normally happens with the fave of the franchise. Ex: Joe Burrow what did he accomplish to persuade them to draft Chase.....etc

Burrow was a #1 draft pick. At that point, he was not a multi-year failure, he still had the clout to ask favors. After this past season, they'll probably be asking him for his input, instead of him asking them.

And asking the FO to draft a former teammate is a lot different than asking to be involved in personnel decisions.

Dak has one playoff win in 6 years. In the stat that matters most, he's near the bottom of the league. The only thing that keeps his job is salary cap ramifications of his contract. If Dallas could cut him, Dak would be - at best - fighting for a job in Miami or Carolina or someplace else that doesn't have a QB.

"And Away We Go!!!! (Anyone out there remember Jackie Gleason?)
Prescott now joining the QB diva club (Aaron Rodgers - President).
Ok Arlington Jonesboys fans, you have one man that has made the personnel decisions for 26 years with only 2 playoff wins in 26 years, no divisional playoff wins, no NFC Championship games, and no Super Bowls for the team that was known as the Dallas Cowboys, America's Team.

You guys are seriously upset that someone wants to help Jerry Dumbo GM Jones. You want no help for the GM that can not be fired that made Dak play without a no.1 WR, TE, and back up C in 2018 starting off the season with a losing record until trading for Amari Cooper, play without 7 defensive starters 2017, and 2 starting OL in 2017. You want no help for the GM that traded 2 no.1 picks for Joey Galloway, no.1 pick for WR Roy Williams (after his Lions team went 0-16), and passed on Randy Moss in the draft. You want no help for the GM that drafted three one legged linebackers, and another LB with a degenerative neck injury.

Are you seriously not going to consider help for Jerry Dumbo GM Jones, and that help not being a relative with the last name Jones?

OK, keep watching from the divisional playoffs, Championship games, and the Super Bowl played by other teams.

I'd take Dak's input on personnel over Jerry's any day. Heck, I'd take my dog's input over Jerry's.

Dak Prescott is now Tom Brady with a higher base salary and without any of the winning. Great.

i think Dak should be Involved in a part of personnel moves - to a certain degree.
Get his observations and input, while also involving his coaches.

If he needs new OL guys, that factors immensely in how the teams choses to acquire those OL guys, per coaches.
But it should be up to the personnel guys first while going thru the A) coaches... B) QB

If going thru the QBs, ironically i've seen it go different directions with certain pinpoint draft prospect players:
- Joe Burrows supposedly made a verbal push for WR Chase instead of OT Pewell.
- Troy Aikman supposedly made a verbal push for TE bust David LaFleur (per 1st rd )

Carrying the team is a myth, that's why fans like yourself have an understanding of how a football team operates.

This my friend is dead on.. No one player has ever carried an NFL team. But it makes a nice sound bite or headline so people run with it. I don't get and really have given up on conversing with anybody that spews that rhetoric. It's never going to be particularly productive nor enlightening.

Jerry Jones is the final decision-maker. Both Will McClay and Stephen Jones have greater input and how has their input translated exactly as far as final season results over time?

There is nothing wrong with giving input. That includes Dak Prescott's. The problem has been, is, and could still be the professional evaluation of said input and pulling the trigger to obtain optimal results--all of which falls solidly on Jones' shoulders as general manager.

37 TDs 10 INTs

explain it all away go ahead
Where were some of those #’s when needed in crunch time? Most of those were either vs. inferior NFC practice squads or other bad teams.Carson Wentz’s #’s were 27 and 7.That looks pretty good, hah!Stats can be so deceiving.

I just do not get the attack on Prescott any time he says anything, it is the same people over and over who will look for fault. To prove what? they hate Dak? we know this already and making stupid statements anytime he says something does not show poorly on Dak it shows how pathetic some are around here. Talk football and stay out of the mindless attacks.
Dak sux!

There’s nothing worth getting inside his head.
