He is when you SWAP picks. Just 27 and still worth 20mil. He would be the focal player
Why are we trading him then , if he's that good we can't replace him with the # 4 pick. And if you could get a better player at #4 why wouldn't the Jets just draft him.

It's all about need. Jets need a number 1 bet wr for that young qb. It's all musical chairs and what's needed bro, you know that
That's why Dallas traded for him, to give their QB a #1 receiver but they only gave up the 27th pick. What makes you think the Jets are giving up a top ten pick?

Looking at the numbers their most recent 1st round pick put up comparable numbers to Lamb in his rookie year (if you factor in that he missed what looks like the first 5 due to a preseason injury) and their other 1st round WR put up similar numbers to Lamb THIS year. So they have zero reason to trade the equivalent of a second round pick in order to get a minor upgrade at a position that is not one of need when they have actual positions of need that could be filled instead.

Neither Brown nor Watkins have been consistent for the Ravens. Jackson's go-to guy is tight end Andrews. Brown is hit or miss. He has never been consistent.
The Ravens need a consistent receiving thread beyond Andrews.
Second, I never said anything about them trading "the equivalent of a second round pick." I said swapping places with the Cowboys.
The Ravens pick #14, the Cowboys #24.
Are you telling me that if the Ravens don't find the player they're looking for at #14, they would swap picks for Amari move down to #24 to allow the Cowboys to jump to #14?
This really isn't a strong draft. I could see it happening.
But it's mere speculation at this point. I'm just saying such a proposal isn't crazy.

That's why they went 4-13 while the Cowboys went 12-5?
Context is everything, my friend. The stupidity has to do with being snookered by the Cowboys in the draft to move from the top of the draft to near the bottom merely for Amari Cooper.

Um are you sure about the Jets not being a stupid organization? This is exactly the organization that would do it. They could sell themselves on getting a proven WR for their QB. If it does happen the Jets would be the type of team.
I'm speaking in reference to the proposal hinted at by Broaddus. I wouldn't think they were that stupid. Then again, I wouldn't think we'd be stuck on stupid either 26 years and counting. ;) :(

It's NOT the 4th overall per se.....the Jets still gets Cowboys 1st (24th) and player

But forget the Jets for a second.....the ideal another team willing to trade down, can we use Coop to move up.
I

Who do you think at that spot Would Cowboys target at that spot?

Baltimore has 2 first round WRs on the roster already. What they need is interior OLine help and probably some pass rush neither of which the Cowboys exactly have to trade.
Maybe Tank??

Interesting......hadn't thought of using Coop to move up in the draft but with this draft lacking many blue-chippers, I suppose it possible. What BB is saying is neither team loses a pick, Cowboys get 4th pick and Jets 24th.

He's like a broken record constantly on about the same idea.
As you say this isn't a draft where we'd be drafting up to get a elite player and the player at 24 won't be much of a drop off from 10/11.
Absolutely no point (unless the Jets gave us their 2 as well).

It doesn't really make sense to trade him during the draft. Isn't his salary guaranteed in March? Reason for getting rid of Coop is the cap savings. I may not understand it well, but in this scenario, wouldn't there be no savings at all?

Since we are all over the place on his value....throw that out for a minute....

Why the JETS for Cooper?

They are so far away from winning. Does Cooper change that? No way. They are a 4-6 win team both with and without him. Why pay him 20 million?

I just don't see how one of the first few total rebuild pieces is a 28 year old WR that makes 20 million with foot problems.

And giving up draft capital for the privilege.

A team like Carolina or Miami makes a little more sense.
