Green between the two. The DT has great upside but has bust and tease written all over him imo.
I think there might be an DE that could be there or with a slight trade down. Personally I kind of hope LB Dean falls to us.

Offensive linemen have a much lower bust rate.

Look at five collosal def linemen busts:Taco Charlton, Kevin Brooks, Danny Noonan, Shante Carver, Larry Bethea; Marcus Spears was not a 1st round talent.

Greg Ellis was a good 1st rounder. Russel Maryland for a short time was good.

D LAw was a 2nd rounder; Jason Hatcher, Harvey Martin, T CRAW, Gallimore and Osa Odig were 3rd rounders, Tony Tolbert and Chris Canty were 4th rounders.

Historically, except for T Smith, Martin and TFRED, Cowboys got their OLmen in 2nd to 4th rounds.

But this year, we have urgent need for a guard who can be like Nate Newton and Larry Allen and blow open holes and keep DT's from getting in Dak's face.

What would it take to trade up for that 6'4 Safety from Notre Dame?

Cowboys do not have the draft capital to move up and they need a LG more than safety. A good LG can help the offense tremendously and immediately. There is no greater glaring need.

Interesting to remember DLaw was a 2nd Rd, as without the elite pass rushing, that's where he'd go in most drafts.

As for our pick, I assume Green offers the flexibility to mix and match the whole line....or keep him established at RG. Interesting, though potentially problematic due our less than steller coaching of the line in 2021.

Pretty much your entire arsenal. He could end up going as high as 3rd

I'm not suggesting going that high up. But if he's still there at #6, try to trade up into Carolina's spot. They could use the extra picks to rebuild their slop. I'm thinking at minimum, two 1sts and a 2nd.

Kavika Pittman deserved an honorable mention in this post lol.

Maybe Ebenezer Ekuban.

When I first looked at this draft, I had a strong gut feeling that Dean would be the pick.

For whatever that's worth lol.

The case could easily be made that the best, cheapest and easiest way to address the DE situation would be to grab an LB that can start right away and use Parsons there more often.

There should be a starting caliber interior OL in the late second, and a lingering TE in the third.

I can't stand trying to wedge position into round, but gotta call that nice work if it happens.

there's a good chance these two players will be available when the cowboys pick; Which would you prefer? Or which do you see as better value and greater impact from the first year, Kenyon Green OL or DeMarvin Leal, DT?
Pick the best available DT or OL in round 1, if that pick is a DT, then move up in the 2nd round to get an OL that begins to drop.
