lol yeah but this is what the money people came up with :p really they just kept the names from 80's teams. and logos too.
Houston logo is exactly the same.

I guess they dont like animal or bird names.

One thing to think about though, is how stupid is a team with the dolphins as a logo brand name>?>?????
The buccaneers? Commanders !! lol synder is such a clown.
Patriots isnt that good either.
But as years go by you get used to the names and forget how stupid they are.

The Washington Commanders were established in 2022.
And oh by the way I thought they were the Washington Commanders? Don't understand the need to put 'Football' on their logo which also oh by the way lists their championships incorrectly LOL!

possible, but only nfl championships prior to SB count officially.
Before SB that was end of line, best a team could do.

Um, no. The Colts officially won the NFL Championship. As did the Vikings. The leagues weren't merged yet. So the winner of the Championship games from the NFL and AFL met. They were officially called AFL VS NFL games. So the League champions of both league's met in the SBs 1 through 4.

That would've been cool to watch. Would love to see this league pick up that kind of steam.

If they want to compete with the NFL/Jethro Jones, they better get Payton Manning or Troy Aikman behind it. And mouth breather Eli. Waste of time.

Pretty sure they're "competing" with MLB and the NBA, not the NFL.

Yes yes, that was the reason for my initial response. For four years we had both. The first four super bowls were basically bragging rights games.

Well in hindsight, I think it was to validate the AFL, since they knew they were going to merge.
Once jets and kc won SB 3 and 4 AFL was seen as Nfl equal. That made the merger better, future SB's better and new NFL better.

I was thinking that maybe jets and KC wins were possible helped along to accomplish that.

It's hard to judge when only the best from both leagues are playing eachother. The NFLs best is going to be hard to beat no matter how far a long a different league has come. But a little help wouldn't hurt either.

Interestingly enough, the Bengals won the division the first year the league's merged. This, despite having two NFL teams (Browns/Steelers) in the same division with them. Colts were the only other team that moved to the AFC to even out the teams.
