Would you offer Will Hernandez a modest contract

I know he was high on our list coming out. In fact, if I remember correctly he spent time training with our OL before getting drafted. 2021 was not his best year, but part was moving from LG to RG. Spent his entire career at LG then had CV19 never got his job back ( see article below ). Noticed his PFF stats (below) 2018, 2019 and 2020 all at LG. Probably wouldn't take more than $3-4M to sign him.

I would... just so the defense could put him in the bullring to see what cheap shots feel like...

Then cut him...

IF we let Connor Williams walk AND Hernandez is willing to take a reasonable offer ( $3-5M ), it's a no-brainer IMO.
absolutely. We are weak at LG and Center, we can't expect to go back into the season and not upgrade one or both spots. Considering Williams is walking, then its a no brainer to try and get Hernandez at a reasonable offer.

naw he would hurt the sensitive cowboy's fans' feelings because he's a mean guy like we need, and he would probably hurt some of the country club defensive players.

It doesn’t sound like he’ll be cheap

I dunno. It’s hard to judge anyone on the giants but he was so incredibly bad for them that I would steer clear.

He was bad at RG. He was solid at LG.

Similar to what we saw with McGovern but opposite sides.

He would be a solid pickup that doesn’t handcuff you during the draft

No. He's a dumb player who would drive everyone nuts by him taking a stupid personal foul penalty after the whistle. He also has feet of cement that don't play well in zone blocking schemes.

Did you hear that Dad? He sounds perfect!

I would feel very uncomfortable if we had to rely on him even as a backup.

Haven’t read the thread… live in NY… watch a lot of Giants and most of my friends are Giants fans.

We think Conner Williams is bad… He’s an all pro in his prime compared to how Giants fans views Hernandez. They hate this guy and can’t wait to move on.

They say he has a mean streak.
I think he has a stupid streak.

I always hated when we played him. He was the idiot who would fly in and spear one of our defenders.

I hope I don't have to cheer for a guy like that.
You won’t have to
He’s gonna get more than we will have to spend on a guard
If he’d sign a “modest” contract the giants would keep him

I liked him in the draft, I was wrong….
Also, he seems to be a dirty player based on what I’ve seen him do against us

A random guy can say anything on the internet. That doesn’t make it true.
Yes I agree. What I have noticed are there seems a lot of teams have protection problems @ the QB position/ Jets,Jags,Panthers, Philly etc. WHernandez does have experience and I dont think a injury history. Do you see him better then CWilliams.

I see him as a better fit at guard. Hernandez’ body type better aligns with what we need at the guard position in my opinion. He could bring some drive and power to the run game that Williams can’t. Williams is better on the move, but struggles to actually push people off of the ball. And he can be bull rushed by power as well.

I think Williams is miscast as a guard and his and Biadasz’ lack of power really hurts our run game.

seven sacks and 36 pressures allowed ..??

Naah, we don't need to be fishing for this kind of bargain binge product with our QB ....

So then you'd be ok with Collins to LG and Steele at RT?

I'm thinking that's what likely to happen. The pre June 1 savings on Collins isn't worth losing him and Steele needs to play full time in year three.

Then again we would then be spending 30 million on guards!

Grrrrr this team lol.

He really wanted to come to Dallas and worked out here pre-draft.

I think he'd be a definite guy to keep an eye on. Especially if he goes back to working with Duke.
He is opposite side of the Connor Williams coin. Has the size and strength and lacks some quickness.
Would be a nice have in a power run game mode.
