The list at 24 is becoming clearer

Still very early with fa just around the corner, I think we have a good handle of which prospects should be available at our pick at 24. Yes, a few will be selected, but there will be several good prospects to chose from:

DE-Johnson, Karllaftis (Edge rushers usually get overdrafted)
OL-Linderbaum, Penning, Green, Zion (seen several have him as a top 25 player)
LB-Dean
WR-Burks, Williams
S-Hill
DT-Davis, Wyatt

That 12 prospects, where 1/3 of the list should still be available the time we go on the clock.

Out of those guys I would say Penning isn’t worth the 24th pick (mauler with mediocre feet), and JJ may not be. Per Broaddus real scouts are telling internet scouts they have JJ too high. I like him. He got better each year and progressed at 2 schools. That’s a good sign (ala Russell Wilson).

The cowboys might view Penning as a guard

You can add Loyd, Wilson, Landon, and Walker to that list as well. I don’t really see them taking a LB.If they part ways with Cooper and DLaw then I think they take the highest guy on their board at either OL,WR, or DE is the pick.

My preference would be

Green
Davis
Johnson

if we do nothing in FA then Liderbaum goes to the top

Good list. I’d remove both DTs, add Lloyd, add a few pass rushers and a few CBs.

Dallas has always liked drafting the best of a position group in round 1. Looking at that I'd guess Jordan Davis who's the consensus top DT will certainly be considered and I don't care what the Cowboys previous views on the 1 tech have been. The entire defensive line needs rebuilt and Davis is a building block. There's a chance of Green or Linderbaum being there and I'd say that's probably your # 1 center and #1 OG on the board and either would be considered. Lastly I think they have a chance at one of the best two linebackers in the class in Lloyd and Dean. However you rank them I think there's a good chance one is there. The ability to sit at #24 and possibly being able to select the #1 DT, #1 C, #1 OG, or # 1 LB should excite everyone. Top that with the depth of the draft at positions of need like DL, OL, LB, and TE and Dallas could make out well in this one.

good points but i dont think the cowboys think the entire Dline needs to be rebuilt at all.

I'd agree with that. Going against the the grain here, but I really think Penning is an NFL guard and Kenyon Green is a tackle.
The front office has taken Tackles in the past and kick them inside-Martin/Collins.
