He’s market value is about 4 million too much.

His value is $5.4 million per year. I see them bringing back Watkins and Urban at around $1 million each.

He would finally be a solid 1T

Honestly, he reminds me of Gallimore. Same type guy. Which I like. But Stevie will pinch pennies.

Hopefully, when Quinn re-signed, he gave the Joneses a list of what he needs to take this defense to the next level. Of course, the Joneses will be heading to Goodwill to try to fill those needs.

Need giant run stuffer in middle of D - have for years. Seems to always be ignored in FA or draft. Probably going to be the same this year unfortunately.

……the trend will continue for years of picking up FA mediocrity and project players. Keep telling us that there are no salary cap consequences and that the cap will continue to increase so basic math doesn’t apply here.

We added a 327 pounder last year
Size doesn’t mean you can play
I’d like a huge guy who’s quick and can stuff the run and pressure the pocket, but they are hard to get

The trouble is, Quinn did so well with this defense that the Joneses may not see a need to make any great changes.

Possibly, but we are going to lose some of those players. The question is how we will replace them. Generally, the theme with the Joneses has been to make sure we have a body that can start at each position, but it doesn't matter how warm that body is.

If LVE leaves, for example, they may just think they can replace him with Cox (although I think Cox will be seen more as a replacement for Neal, if he leaves). If both Neal and LVE leave, then it's likely the Joneses will try to latch onto their next Kearse-like find; never mind the many more bargain players we've signed who have been total duds.

We have to replace or re-sign Watkins, Urban, LVE, Kearse, Kazee, Neal, Gregory, Armstrong and Hooker to have the same defense. Some of them will be cheap and be brought back, but some will leave for greener pastures.

Ay. Owning is obviously joking. No story here.

Go deeper in the tweet and you'll find Phillips is basically liking all tweets that mention him going anywhere

We need interior help. A DT/NT would help our run D issues. It's nice to have 3-4 guys to get the QB. But we can't do that if teams commit to running against us, especially if Our offense starts the game playing like garbage.

I think we'll be counting on Gallimore and Odighizuwa as our two primary DTs. (Don't think we should, but I believe the Joneses will see it that way.) So I think they are likely to just bring back Watkins and depend on Hill and Bohanna to fill out the position. I'd like to see them either draft a stud there or add one in free agency, but I don't think this is going to be a position where we will see much change.
