For all the deniers that paste statistics without context to claim Dak wasn’t struggling or just lazily attribute his struggles directly to his calf injury to excuse his play…

From NFL.com

Dak's play sunk after a Week 6 calf injury, but his struggles ran deeper than the injury. "I wouldn't say it lingered as long as people gave me the excuse of it," Prescott said on The Rich Eisen Show during Super Bowl week. "I went through a period of time during the season where I just didn't play my best ball."

+1 for Dak admitting poor play.

The first step is admitting there is a problem.

One thing everybody needs to agree on when it comes to Dak, no matter what your opinion on him as a player, is this:

He's a stand up guy and owns up to his own mistakes. This is a quality plenty of quarterbacks, better and worse than Dak, do not have; and is one reason he is so universally loved by everybody on the team.

Dak helped Dallas win 11 games, threw for 4449 yards, 37 touchdowns to 10 picks, and completed almost 69 percent of his passes; and yet you'd think we still had Quincy Carter out there the way some fans think.

There were plenty of games he needed to be better; and so did the rest of the team. As I have said on here before, Dak needs to rise up when the rest of the team is down. That is my one criticism of him at the moment- his play mirrors that of everybody around him during games.

But to sit here and say he's the same guy he was in 2016 and 2017 is ridiculous. He has been making tons of throws every game that he simply couldn't back then. His transition from 4th round feel-good story to true franchise quarterback happened long ago.

Some fans have just made up their mind of what Dak is and nothing will ever change it. He can play fantastic for six out of every seven games and they will insist he's the quarterback that was bad for one game and act like all the other six never happened. It is what it is.

Gotta respect his candor. I never listen to him talk because he's basically Jason Garrett. He seems to be returning to earth though lately

Dallas had the only QB in the playoffs that gets inside the redzone and is scared to death to throw the ball. He is so afraid he looks to run to make up for his inability to throw the ball into traffic. In the mean time we're watching all these young up and coming QBs firing the ball into the end zone without hesitation to covered WRs and scoring TDs. When he isnt running Daks throws are fades and safe throws because he doesn't know how to use ball placement.

He's right it wasn't the injury. Where was the injury when he/the offense had a good game? I've had enough with the excuses anyway. Like it or not he's the QB and hope he takes it as a personal challenge to get better and not completely waste a good core of players around him.
