If you’re going to be a competitor in the playoffs, you can’t keep guys just because they were good last year…or the last 3. Good scouting and personnel decisions involve moving veterans BEFORE they are “done”.

Coop is a great receiver but having him has translated into what exactly? One playoff win. Made the playoffs twice. Hate to say it, but there are plenty of receivers out there that can give us what Coop has for a lot less money.

One of the biggest problems with this franchise- falling in love with players and losing perspective. And I’m just talking about the front office, not fans, lol.

From all indication, it sounds like it's the Cowboys team that has the right to exercise the escape clause right to opt out of this Cooper contract.

It sounds like when the two parties sat down and hammered out the details of this contract, both parties mutually agreed to the details of this escape clause. .
The Cooper camp apparently agreed and gave the Cowboys team the right to exercise this escape option at contract agreement, ..

Thus If Cooper wanted to stay with the Cowboys, i don't think he has a say in it., ..His fate is clearly with the Cowboys, it's all in the Cowboys' hands right now
It's the Cowboys decision, .. not Cooper's.

well yeah, it's worked out well for the Cowboys wrt to their ability to decide how to proceed uninhibited, but the talk all along was that Cooper preferred a shorter deal on the front end. Regardless, fortuitous for Dallas. Hopefully they opt for an extension to lower his aav but still provide flexibility

Time for you to make the toughest decision of your life, who do we keep Cooper or Gallup?? We can't keep both..... Give me your thoughts
its a simple question. Cooper is due like 22 million, we could have Gallup for what?10-12 million per year? Gallup is a gamer, Id take him all day.

I like Cooper, but he didn't light it up last year? For 22 million per year, we better be getting Cooper Kupp type production, and he was about half of that.

Also, make no mistake about it, Jerry was not happy that a players decision to not get vaccinated cost him games, which hurts the team. He said as much, and there is no way it isnt playing a part in this.

I’ve seen the offense without Cooper and I’ve seen the offense with mount Gallup.

With all due respect to Gallup, Cooper is the true number 1 for a reason.

Gallup, not that hard to me. Cooper is a great talent but not at the price he's getting.

A true number 1? He had 68 catches for less than 900 yards. That is not a number 1 by any definition.. in a SEVENTEEN game season.
I like the guy..... but no way in hell is he worth anything close to 22 million dollars.

Listening to the media around Dallas many seem to think Amari is gone. Would rather have him than Gallup but moving on from Amari would save the team a lot of money. His production doesn’t fit his salary but we didn’t utilize him. If we lose him it’s going to be a big loss. He made some critical plays for us.

coooooooooooooooooooooooop.
he saved our season in '018.
i'll never forget that.
FOREVER.
COOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOP.
He’s not worth the money we’re paying, and we can easily sever ties without big cap implications AND replace his production.

Cooper is obviously better, but Gallup will be much cheaper and is less of a headache

Give me Gallup and use the saved $$ on a D-Linemen or TE

I prefer Gallup and its not a knock on Cooper per se. Cooper is a good WR. Inconsistent and I question his conditioning but he is a quality player. His issue is that ridiculous contract and the fact they drafted CeeDee. I believe CeeDee is your number 1 for the next five years. I think Gallup given his ability to stretch defenses down field is the better compliment. Cant have a $100MM number 2 WR. Gallup is coming off a bad injury so that's a consideration. Still I choose Gallup. Much better value.

Cooper vs Gallup straight up isnt the question though. At least it shouldnt be.

Its Cooper at $20m/season vs Gallup at 10-13m/season

Im sorry but a 80 catch 1050 yd a season receiver isnt worth $20m.

Ceedee had these same numbers this year and folks are saying he isnt a #1. Darnell Mooney put up these same numbers in a horrible offense with a rookie QB running for his life.

Cowboys are a passing team obviously. Cooper should get more targets. Cowboys need to keep this man! Dlaw which I think is heck of a player is the guy that needs to be cut (June 1st cut) 19 million saved, Cooper restructured 12.5 million saved..

i agree but it was moron FO who paid him that much and put us in this situation. Also, he missed two game and also I put more blame on KM and Dak for Amari’s low numbers. I mean I don’t think Amari is Kupp or Hopkins or anything but he is really hard to cover.
I love Gallup but I just can’t see it being worth paying him. Even when does make catches, they are usually contested because he doesn’t get a lot of separation. No one will ever feel the need to double team him. Feel like Wilson is the better bargain, albeit slightly less talented than Gallup but good chemistry with Dak and worth a modest contract.
