I started looking at top QB's over the years to see if there were examples of franchise QB's being traded by teams that didn't think they were done, or at least nearing done, and I found your comment is pretty accurate. I guess we will see with Wilson. He had a damn fine 2020 season. Maybe his best ever. But 2021 wasn't so good to him.

Wow. Never expected that. Thought for sure Wilson was staying in Seattle. The biggest smiles out there are by Jeudy, Sutton, and Tim Patrick right now.

Maybe, only time will tell…
But they’ve given up a hell of a lot in draft picks and players… and as they were at best an average team playing in arguably the toughest division in the league, I’m not sure Wilson is going to automatically turn them into a contender.
Seattle are the bigger winners imo, they looked like they’re playing for 3rd at best over the next couple of years, so Wilson was just going to be wasted anyway.
At least now they have some draft picks back after sending theirs to the Jets and should have a chance of rebuilding somewhat quicker.

Carson Palmer comes to mind. Traded to the Raiders due to conflicts, was so-so, then traded to the Cardinals and dominated; had his best seasons there.

Favre is another trade, he got pushed out by Rodgers, had the Jets at 8-3 before he got injured, then brought the Vikings to 12-4 the next year.

Montana traded to Chiefs, they had 2 strong years and made the AFCCG.

It’s not something that should be done unless in very unique circumstances though.
