The pickins are slim and this draft isn't a good one.
When considering what the Cowboys have, "could always be worse" should always be applied. They could have picked Lynch or Cook. And Booger was upset the next day he didn't offer a 2nd and 3rd for Lynch. They not only could have done worse but have many times. This team has a GM lamenting not making a bigger mistake.
I don't need to name them, do I? Please don't make me, I weep every time I think about them.
When I see the complaints about Prescott, I always think 'you want these people picking a QB'? You are kidding?????
The old saying "I was sad because I only had one shoe until I saw a man missing a foot" applies to any QB displeasure here.
Some of this may be true but maybe a higher draft investment approach by the front office in the QB position could have yielded more success.
What's been the succession plan to Aikman since he retired?
Quincy Carter as the next Michael Vick wasn't it?
Yeah, this GM IS NOT the QB evaluator for sure.
But then followed up by 2 absolute unlikely scenarios of luck with ONE undrafted FA and one 4th rounder drafted into ideal circumstances.
So basically, pure luck that the team hasn't been on a Detroit Lions level of ineptitude for decades now because of 2 guys outperforming their draft status which just happened to be good, not great.
No matter what you may think of the draft being a crap shoot I would have thought that a couple of second rounders or gosh forbid, one first, could have been invested in the QB position over the last few years especially the way second rounders were thrown away for so long.
I KNOW the special franchise ones are harder to find and rare.
I still think this organization's approach at drafting, acquiring and developing QBs is severely lacking.
Even with ALL things being considered.
