Reads like "business as usual" for most of the 21st century.

there was always that tiny bit of hope that we can be better “with that new scheme” and “with that new weapon” but I think it is safe to say that Daks play last year has opened a lot of eyes (though many don’t want to say it) that we have no real shot at a SB as long as Dak is here

Agree 1000%........We as fans thought ALL boxes were finally checked for a serious run at a min NFCCG and to lose the first round AT HOME committed 14 penalties. For me, it's close to being the most disappointing loss in 30+ years.
I think this is what it comes down to - a big box was checked in that for the first time in a while we had a defense that could win us a game. No telling when that happens again around here.

11-1 versus teams with fewer than 10 wins, 1-5 versus teams with 10 or more wins.

Team wasn't as "close" as some want to believe. Just the best team in a bad division.

It’s tough to sell hope when you’re returning with the same team minus 3-4 really good players.

I was watching a draft chat with Helman and Cavanaugh last night, they both said this is the most frustrated they’ve seen Cowboys fans in their time covering the team. That something feels different about the mood of the fanbase right now. Do you agree?
It’s the perception of Dak. Him having a gang busters 1st 6 games then couldn’t hit the side of a barn burned any good fans previously saw

Tough to expect mid round picks to start in year one, but if this 'draft only' strategy is to work, we have a load of those types from last year who will need to take that second year leap....big time.

Joseph, Golston, Wright, OO, Ball, Bohanna, Cox, Farinok......

If several of them can step it up we will be ok......and that's really gotta be the hope, because getting two immediate contributors in this draft is as good as its gonna get.
I see a big jump from OO, Golston, and Cox, but beyond that, IDK. Maybe Joseph, Farniok?

He’s our one saving grace! The diamond amongst the trash haha. I’m just worried the Cowboys’ terrible culture of entitled mediocrity will stifle Micah’s enthusiasm, like it has so many other good young players.

He will at least wait till he gets paid and then he will very likely become like the rest

I’m not upset about losing players that haven’t really gotten us very far anyway. I’m upset that the same clowns are in charge of this ship and they keep doing the same things over and over and over and somehow expecting a different result. THE PLAYERS AREN’T THE PROBLEM.

Yep, if we like it or not there's a Cap issue in 2022 AND 2023, now if they decide upon a strategy that cuts the players that are good (but way overpaid) and accept that 2021 showed us that that team wasnt going to make it then fine i'll accept cutting D/Law and possibly Coop (though we could have saved $12m on restructuring), as it's a better option that restructuring the injury prone Tyron and La'el.....but why, why, why, do we then spend nearly $11m on a 4th receiver, a TE that can't block is a 4th WR.

.....Oh and then there's Gallup, how many times are we going to extend a player after a major injury (and im not just referring to Dak).....if we extend him I expect a large hometown discount (due to damaged goods and possible limitations in 2022).

As you say, different year....same mistakes.

Ohhhhh so now its 10 or more wins. Before it was playoff teams. I am just trying to keep up with constant moving of the goalposts. Next its going to be 12 or more wins.

We have nothing going for us, going forward.

The QB sucks

The GM sucks

They are getting rid of a fan favorite without getting compensation in return

We got embarrassed by a top-5 rival of ours in our home stadium after a 12-5 season. The only home team to lose in WC weekend

We arent going to do anything noteworthy in free agency

It really sucks to be a fan of this team because the main problem (Jerry and his son) arent going anywhere. Getting rid of Amari is a clear example of a GM that has no urgency with his job status. No one that has failed as long as he has is making the offense worse when they are supposed to be “contending”
We need something like a 'half-like' feature for when a post is completely true but you don't really want to admit it lol.

You’re definitely in the minority. So, your interests are purely monetary?Gotta make a living. But for us diehard, passionate fans who don’t have a monetary stake in this team, it’s different. We actually care about winning.
I care about winning, I never said otherwise. But I'm not so caught up in the idea that winning is all that matters. There is only one team that wins it all each year. So, for ppl that think as you do, 31 teams are losers every year. The Cowboys won 12 games last season. That's a lot of winning and I loved it. I feel bad for Cowboys fans like you that are only satisfied by winning it all. If that is the majority then I'm so happy to b in the minority that appreciated the great season the Cowboys just had.
