For a team that complains about needing more cap space they can save 750k-2 mil and use a rookie instead.
That’s true though ST is pretty important and you don’t really want to spend one of your 7 picks on a guy just for ST

How many snaps is he in the game to make a meaningful difference to block? Maybe 13?

After the Raiders/Chiefs game when Amari was out he played 16 snaps the last 5 weeks of the season.

33% of his snaps came in 2 games. He had 4 games he didn’t play at all and the last game of the year he played 4 snaps.

I think they can find an adequate replacement that at least plays in more than 75% of games

He played in roughly 25% of the team’s offense snaps and 36.5% of the special team snaps.

When Noah Brown comes in the game, YOU KNOW it's going to be a run. I think they mentioned him being a TE last summer, why not make the move, he's only here to block! He's good at blocking, give me your thoughts
actually, hes made some nice catches as well, contested tough catches. but yes cant have player who comes into do one thing and its alerts defense to what's coming., can fans stop whining about everything especially our 5th or 6th option as a pass target,, let it go..hes a role payer all teams have them.

It is not so much the production as to the intangibles.
He blocks, and plays ST’s. And can be productive if given the chance. He knows the offense and the routines. A late rounder would be lost compared to Brown.
like Semi :)

They could find a replacement….he’s not replaceable.

Is he more important than Bryan Anger? Probably similar money. Yet they chose the 5th/6th WR over the pro bowl punter

The goal has with Brown has always been to keep the defense in Nickel; whereas, with a 2 TE set defenses go to base.

Having said that, Noah Brown is straight up a better blocker than Schultz or Jarwin.

How about just getting a real TE, who can block and catch.

Let's cut a vet to bring in a rookie that has to learn the offense. Brilliant thinking guys. NOT.

The guy who expects a lot of production from your 5th WR doesn't understand football very well.

I hate they keep bringing him back. You can find another 6th rounder or practice squad for his production
I hate that they won't fully commit to using him. He never had a ton of playing time at Ohio State with injuries and such. But he has some talent.

Using him in ST and very spotty duty isn't helping him get the flow of the pro game.

It would seem I have a problem with the way Moore and the Cowboys use their players. Noah Brown is no exception. I get it, when you bring in #1 WR's, it can be hard to crack into the lineup...but... Either put him in regularly, or ditch him.

TE might be one way to do it.

Of course, maybe we just accept his minor role and small contract and move on to something more important?

Brown gives us a bunch of ST snaps and is a functional depth WR. Teams need guys like him.

He's at league minimum or near to it, with only 150k guaranteed. Good deal for us just as roster insurance.

I'm very happy with the Brown signing. I would have thrown him a bone and given him a 500k bonus in exchange for another year of rights.
