Unbelievable. All they got was a 5th?!

i was hoping for at least "conditional " 5th rd pick.that could be at least a 3rd at best.

Guess the Browns did not want to take on Both mammoth contract ..and a high round pick.

the guy was 38th in targets. That’s why he didn’t produce. Even ceedee who people are so high on was 24th. The issue isn’t them- it’s the system. Good teams force feed their best players the ball. Go check the stats on this team when cooper gets 8+ targets a game.
You’re making excuses for the player. His QB bears responsibility, but so does he and Lamb. Cooper’s effort was definitely questionable. Lamb had drops and some of his route running was questionable at times as well.

absolutely they deserve criticism. Of course. They don’t however deserve to be traded and promoted in ceedee’s case. Criticism is more than fair but acting shocked that the player didn’t put up numbers that reflect his pay when he was ranked 40th in targets and then using that as a metric to trade him for a domino’s pizza?..........malpractice.

We just lost our best receiver. Cooper being gone is the first nail in the Cowboys coffin for next season.
Yes, he certainly is the best of the bunch but in the end does it really matter?

This organization/team is minor league playing in the majors.

Ineptitude by the Front Office to only get a 5th in return, especially for a guy they gave up a 1st for.

BUT…

Dak wanted all that money knowing it would eat up a huge chunk of the cap and he would lose guys. Well, he got it.

Enjoy your patched-up offense my guy.

All because Jerry got butt-hurt with Cooper’s vaccination status. HE ALREADY HAD COVID, so he would’ve missed the games anyway! Get lost, Jerry!

Cooper was a number 1 or number 2 guy with Lamb. Gallup was the number 3. Gallup is coming off a serious leg injury. Depth chart wise the Cowboys rated Cooper higher obviously. I would have paid Cooper one more year and let Gallup go in FA. The net hit would be about $9 million with Cooper at $20 and Gallup at $11. Pick up the difference in redone contracts with Cooper, Prescott and Lawrence.

It is not showing your hand, EVERYONE knew he had to trade Cooper when they had not announced they were reworking the deal. About the only way to bluff would have been to actually rework the deal and then maybe you could get a higher pick because you are taking on a larger dead money hit. However, as it stands he is an overpaid player that you obviously want to cut which means that the only reason you would give up a pick is if you want to dodge dealing with free agency which the Browns did but were not willing to give up much.

We didn't have to trade him though.....that's the point. We didn't have a gun pointed @ our head. We could have re-worked the numbers.

But we didn't......and that was just dumb.

We could have created money.....

Nope......this was all about finding a scapegoat. And here you go.....Amari on a silver platter.

Who is going to be Prescott's next victim???

So let me get this straight. 2018 trade a number one for Cooper. 2020 sign the guy for 5 years $100 million. 2022 trade the guy for a 5 and a 6. 27 years old. That right?

The Dallas Cowboys are the worst franchise in the NFL after Detroit and Miami. That’s a fact.
