He's basically getting the same amount of money in three years instead of two.

I'm now not convinced they wanna keep Gregory........Think about it, IF they wanted to keep him bad enough they could have completed DLaw extension way before now and kept Gregory off the market.

Don't think people realize how hard it is to find Defensive ends in this league that can stop the run and rush the passer. Maybe he's not worth what he's getting, but he's still a dam good player. And he actually gives a crap about winning.

I'm glad they kept him around with Micah and diggs.

The objective to retain Lawrence on a lower cap figure has been achieved. The cost is pushing back the charge if cutting him before 2024, which is similar to what it was before he re did the deal. Doesn't suggest it is the strategy of a team looking to clear the decks and restart in 2023

The Cowboys were talking to Lawrence. Remember last week when news broke he refused to take a pay cut? It appears the Cowboys and D-Law found middle ground. He's getting less money overall but more of it is guaranteed.

With Lawrence's old contract he would have been gone in 2023. He also wanted to stay in Dallas and this deal makes it work well for both sides.

Yes, the reward for the Cowboys is a lower cap hit in 2022 and the reward for Lawrence is there is a very good chance he is here in 2023. He has gained an extra year. Essentially this looks like a 2 year deal or one the Cowboys could get out of after 2 years
