They are clearing the books for Payton next season. Might as well prepare yourselves. This season will be a WASH.......McCarthy is just a stand in until next season. Payton or Quinn next season. Post it right now.

I only believe this because you said it...

I used to think the "Sean Peyton coming to Dallas" thing was just some ridiculous fantasy created by fans. All of a sudden, I watched a couple podcasts yesterday and heard Jesse Holly (on Hanging with the boys) and Newy Scruggs and Barry Church (on The Player's Lounge) talking about the possibility. It got me thinking "Wow, this could be becoming a reality." Jesse Holly even brought up how Jerry would have to give up a lot of control if that were to happen however said he feels Jerry would actually give Peyton all the control he needs.

Both Newy and Jesse said if that was to become reality, KM's play calling would be over. Newy even went even further saying he believes Mike McCarthy should be the one to be calling the plays this next season. He said (which is true) "If I'm going down, I'm going down swinging if I was the HC. I wouldn't want someone else controlling my destiny." Newy even went further saying "Why didn't MM take over play calling last year?"

So this could be happening people...

It is.

That's why the Cowboys talk shows discuss it. Who do you think is listening to them? Fans. They're telling the audience what they want to hear.

If Payton wants to coach he'll have multiple suitors. It won't be Dallas or nothing. That's just a ridiculous fantasy created by fans.

Resigned Gregory, Lawrence, Hooker, McQuade, cleared cap space, etc.—yeah, they’re tanking for sure! 2022 means NOTHING!

I've panicked like most of us but how about letting the team-building play out before coming up with these types of chicken little posts.

IMO, they’re giving the current regime one more chance. If they don’t win at least two playoff games, they’ll TRY to lure Payton. Failing that, it’s Quinn.

this site gets harder and harder to come to. Pessimism is overwhelming especially this time of year.

Big Mac is as good as Payton records are almost identical
15 NFL seasons each - 2006 the first season for both.
Payton: 152 - 89 regular season, 9 - 8 playoffs, 1-2 NFCCG, 1-0 SB
McCarthy: 143 - 92 - 2 regular season, 10 - 9 playoffs, 1-4 NFCCG, 1-0 SB

I actually agree. But why would we bother to sign Gallup or tag Schultz…might as well clear the books all the way..

We are not rebuilding just reloading. A pause if you may. Jerry won't spend big nor sign a player that's gonna ruin the cap for the next coach next year. Yea. It sucks to have to wait another year but here we go.

you have been on the ice star too long !!:p
payton isnt coming here, and quinn may not want the job. he may like being just dc.
None of what jones boys are doing now relate to getting ready for a new HC.

It is just the jones boys doing what they do.

Maybe but I'd bet you McCarthy won't be here either short of a Super Bowl

Who really plans on them winning any year with the idiots in charge if you consider winning it meaning a SB. Watch for entertainment…that’s all we’ve got!

i think a lot of people are right about sean payton coming to dallas, and unfortunately that might signal the last year of dak prescott to, and elliot might get hit by the door on his way out, between this years draft and next years draft which i think will be a high to mid-range pick and a lot of free up money the stage is set for big mac to see the door to along with kelen . sean doesn't share his offense with a person he is always in command

Jerry has thought he was going to win the SB every year for the last 26 years….doing it his way
This year is no different

Yeah. The sad thing is, tanking this year would be more beneficial than their original plan, which is to just overpay our own players who can't get it done and sign a couple scrubs. But as fans, who wants to sit through a tank season? The outlook is grim either way, unless they do something they haven't done since...forever. Spend in FA.

Well if they want to win with Payton they better find another QB because Dak is a marketing tool to sell tickets. He isn't good enough to win anything but the NFC east.
