This is what we have resorted to — being forced to find excitement/optimism in the punter. The punter! Lol

Gosh, this organization is such a joke.

Save a roster spot, teach Cooper rush to punt like Danny white used to back in the day...

Now this was a smart move by the front office.
Gotta give credit where credit is due.

Well, I hate giving up better talent, but for the price, I can't say it's a bad thing. Many expected Niswander to win the job after he punted well his first season, then we brought in Anger and forced Niswander to handle place-kicking duties while Zuerlein recovered from back surgery. Niswander never was really given a chance to compete last offseason. I don't know if that's simply because Fassel really liked Anger or had something against Niswander. I guess we'll find out based on how they approach this season. If they bring in another older vet, then we can assume they have little faith in Niswander. If they bring in a UDFA, then it's pretty safe to say it's Niswander's job to lose.

Funny thing is that we also signed a kicker before cutting Zuerlein. He's only played in one NFL game, though, where he was 1-1 on FGs, making a 37-yarder and 1-2 on extra points. I would think they see him as more of a camp leg, but you never know. He switched to kicker from punter his senior year at SMU and made 17 of 21 FGs.
