Brah. Come on Randy. We are all happy for you and wish you well in life

But quit acting like Jerry didn’t go above and beyond for you.

I hope you have a long career with 0 sacks per season ;)

thus faux outrage just exposes him further

I wanted to keep him, but not at that level of guaranteed money. I'd have paid him the 5/70 but made him earn it.

Another team where weed happens to be legal was willing to pay him as if he has actually played a full NFL season or four...which he hasn't.

Can buy plenty of smoke with 28 million, and I'd wager anyone that's all he ends up with out of that contract before they get tired of his act.

For now I'd like it if Jerry got over it and moved on before there's no one left.

If they think they can fill that spot with a draft pick they are worse than I thought.

If the Broncos drafted you they would have dumped you because you couldn't see the field for the smoke.

The Cowboys believed in you to a fault.

You saved Jerry from another bad contract and for that I thank you.

Far be it for me to defend the Jones, and yes, I am guessing the contract could have been handled better, but Gregory should shut his mouth about criticizing Jerry, even indirectly.

Few teams would have stuck by him and kept him around for as long as we did. One can argue that if not for Jerry, Gregory might have found himself out of the league at some point, not about to collect $70 million potentially.
Tells you plenty about the person that Gregory is.

I'd be surprised if he finishes the second season there. Not very used to accountability and no more direct line to ownership.

What an entitled drama queen.

If this front office gave up on him, like every other FO would have done, he'd be on his couch.

Of course they had their own selfish reasons, but they went above and beyond to help Randy get to this point.

Unless or until I see his contract offer compared to others in the organization, I can't say it was unfair. The simple fact is Randy was unreliable.

I dislike Jerry Jones passionately, but nobody trusted Randy Gregory more than he did.

I wish him well, because I know he suffered with anxiety and other issues, but he loses me with that trust bs.

Didn't Jerry and co rework his contract too when he needed money and extend him too when he needed money help? I seem to remember they did.

Congrats on his contract, but he needs to stop with the 'believe in me comment", he can not like the contract that was offered by Dallas, but they did stand with hin
at a time that I doubt a lot of teams would have stood with him.

I would have loved to have Gregory still on the Cowboys but I’m glad it’s not for the $28 million guaranteed. Looking through his history, no team should sign him for more then one year at a time. I wish him the best but if anyone thinks he has turned the corner look at his history, everyday will be a struggle. Two years ago he was close to being homeless, 10 inpatient/ outpatient rehab and over 100 failed drug test. It’s not just Marijuana - it’s heavy drugs.

Gregory admits if it wasn’t for Jerry his career would be over and life drastically different. Think Delonta West! As a person I wish the best for Gregory but it’s hypocritical to talk about trust with the Cowboys. He had every right to sign with the Broncos but in my opinion him and his agent are using the contract language as a deflection for his choice.

Like him or not, our failure to replace him in any sort of fashion will come back to haunt us. Disciplined and successful teams would take his spurn of us and turn around to sign a player like Von. Instead we sat on our hands as usual, and will have nothing to show in another sickening off season of failure. Salty Cowboy fans get too used to this

This is the biggest issue I have with the Gregory deal. Loyalty is hard to come by, and to a “noble” fault, Jerry has that issue with his players. Broncos apparently got to him first.

Yet Gregory, you couldn't be trusted on when the Cowboys took a chance on you when you dropped to the second half of the second round because of your off the fielded issues.. and yet Jerry gave you a contract extension, but now you talk about trust!!

Good Riddance Randy....we'll find out how soon Denver loses trust in you!

So many great comments in this thread. But more and more about what happened is leaking out and it looks to me like Gregory made a deal with Dallas then backed out to go to Denver. That's fine. He has that right. But the lying about the contract to make Jerry look bad is inexcusable, even if Jerry did not support Gregory all those years when RG was suspended and in constant trouble. What we now know is the story about the clause inserted at the last minute was a lie. The language he supposedly objected to was always in the contract. Furthermore, his agent had done deals with Dallas on other players and the language was in those contracts too. So his claim he had never seen that before was a complete lie as well. Its one thing to go to Denver where pot is legal, and you'd would have to try hard to convince me that is not the reason Gregory went to Denver, but to smear his old team that stood behind him for 6 years is really uncalled for.
