What a classless guy. He couldn't/wouldn't stop smoking weed long enough to get on the field for years. The Cowboys for some reason, stuck by him - and thats his gratitude- WOW. It was obvious he was a moron, before they signed him in the beginning. I mean who blows a chance to be drafted in the first round and the money that comes with it to smoke weed, lol. Good riddance - time to stop having him and Collins and these unbelievably stupid players on this team. Let them be someone else headache.

I hope he wins a Super Bowl and rubs it in you delusional Cowboys fans face.
The moron is going to get suspended yet again, lol. The Broncos will be paying him because they didn't put in any language in the contract to protect themselves. We will all be glad he is their problem very soon. Good riddance to yet another moron.

You are right, but Gregory's mental health issues led to his drug habit; not the other way around. Either way, I agree the Cowboys are the only reason he even has a pro career at this point. I understand that after seven years of trusting him, the last minute contract change probably felt like a stab in the back for Gregory. But it works both ways. I think it's best the split happened because I honestly think we have already seen the best Gregory has to offer. Maybe I'm wrong and the Broncos have a steal, but I just don't see it.

Non story. I'm a Cowboys fan and not name that Cowboy player fan. Players come and go. Once E Smith left for Arz I disowned him, until he retired a Cowboy.

As offensive as Gregory is towards Cowboys fans, I was more offended by his flash in a pan career and the way he tailed off towards the end of last season.

Wonder if he felt like he owed fans something when they were making excuses for him and defending his mental health.

I wanted to keep him, but not at that price. He has had one good season since the Cowboys drafted him. He has only been a problem literally the entire other time. It will be interesting see if age or having low wear on his body is bigger factor.

If you asked me before that draft like what 2015 draft? Who was the flakiest largest character red flag prospect, I would have said Gregory.

Literally in the chat here, I said don't draft the guy don't. He skipped a planned interview with the Oakland Raiders and never said anything no reason, not even an excuse. AND THEY STILL DRAFTED HIM. An unreliable non-motivated twit.

My opinion hasn't changed 7 years later.

The fact that he is getting into social media arguments over something he should have been already over, says something.

If he got what he wanted in money and his new team and their fans are much better, then why is he taking time to argue with some stranger? Does that make sense for someone with their head screwed on straight?

I was wondering about this. Wasn’t there something going around about him not getting the entire story from his agent?

Either way, I bet he wasn’t expecting such criticism even from non Cowboys fans.

2 things can be true.

1. RG got screwed by NFL who pushed his big money off 3 years with egregious punishment for a common, minimally harmful drug.
2. RG has big ears and is overly sensitive even in a time when he should be celebrating. That is a red flag. And I am grateful it isn't our team making the commitment that gets RG right with his career earnings.

RG tells one story this off-season and totally different one last year this time. He credited the Joneses with him even being in the league just a year ago. Now he is calling them "bad faith actors" --pure agent speak nonsense btw, while admitting they agreed to pay him 28M GTD and 70M over 5 years.
What's clear is he was overly emotional in all this and let "his money get mad".
That is a tenet he could learn from Jerry Jones.

ALSO ::: none of this totally removes blame from the Cowboys FO. They do know Randy. They know other players too that are overly emotional beings. You don't trigger those guys in negotiations and just assume they will calmly forgive and forget. They CLEARLY lowball guys with their first offer and they clearly put the onus on agents to go out and get the highest possible offer elsewhere.
This is very flawed because it angers agents and other teams who negotiate knowing they have to stylize a deal that Dallas won't or can't match.
This can be viewed as giving up tactical advantage. You let EVERYONE know your model and tactics and bull-headedly stick to it as other teams work it to their benefit.
Great points.

The Cowboys know Randy is highly emotional and things can "trigger him" very easily. If you know this, then the way you make a contract with him is to lay everything out on the table at one time, explain everything to him in detail, ask him if he has any questions or concerns, and then have him sign it.

What you dont do is verbally agree on the phone to the parameters of the contract and then email it to him and his agent with some clauses that you never discussed with him. He then gets all paranoid, thinks the Cowboys are trying to "get him" and he gets spooked and totally shuts down all communication and signs with somebody else.

RG did cut the Joneses a break on his contract... then they tried to screw with his guarantees and the goodwill was gone. Stephen and Jerry played hardball with a guy who was trying to work with them.

As far as the fans... it's Gregory's money and not ours. He's absolutely right when he says "your opinions don't pay my bills." We'll forget about him as soon as he's out of the league (anyone check on Anthony Spencer or Marion Barber lately?), but for Gregory, life goes on. He's going to need some money for it.

Never understood why people make it personal in here. People have the right to their option. So it's different than yours get over it.

It’s obvious to me why people make it personal in here it’s because they’re frustrated with the team and are looking to take it out on someone. If you don’t agree with their opinions you’ll be a target.

All great in theory. In practice the agent doesn’t let the player in the same room as the front office until the contract is negotiated.
