Defense needs another Edge rusher, DT and Linebacker, but more role players then stars needed.
We may not like it but they will bring in a defensive tackle through free agency and draft one as well. Maybe take a flyer on an athletic freak pass rusher with one of later picks.

Watkins/Urban are unsigned, you would think they sign a 1T prior to the draft. I'm not sure if they sign another Edge in fa, but there are a few to get at a bargain price now in JPP, Jerry Hughes, Barr, Clowney, Dunlap, Barnett, Ingram, etc. Perhaps, if there is 1 left after June 1st, they use that Collins money to land one. We did get Griffen around that time 2 years ago.

wow .. an offensive overhaul ? Isn't this a bit overreaction with all the cap money and high picks we've already placed in these positions ?

OL
- We're still going on with Tyron and his cap dollars/salary
- We're still going on with future Zack Martin though he's not as dominant as he used to be.

QB - Contrary to the haters, Dak is our QB and that's gonna decide future coaches to be

RB - Zeke is on his last legs and looks to be a 2023 cap casualty

TE - We are not tagging Schultz to let him go; expect long term eventually
WR - we drafted Lamb in 1st rd. and just dished out a big contract for Gallup

-They are in the midst of rebuilding their OL, where two starters are already gone in Collins/Connor. They may want to upgrade at Center as well.
-They are looking for another WR to help booster that unit after Cooper's departure.
-There is no guarantee, they resign Shultz to a long-term deal, they are linked to several high end TE prospects.
-Will McClay has said he really likes the Running Back Class, Pollard to a fa after the season, they can get out of Zeke's contract at the same time.

This is a major overhaul to the offense.

Sounds like a Jared Jelks type.
Which means a super raw project - bubble player to make the practice squad.

That's addition, that's not an overhaul.

- Overhaul means replacing everything- new QB, new WR, new TE, new starting OL across the board
-replacing the QB, the leader of the offense

- Overhaul means new starting WRs- we are investing heavily in WRs Lamb and Gallup, they are our No.1 and No.2 starting WRs
we are not overhauling and replacing them.

- Besides Schultz ,who else do we have at TE ?, .plus we've supposed looked at TEs in draft before, and before, - doesn't mean we are dead set to draft them.

Dunlap and Hicks would be my dream free agents. Dunlap is the perfect 5 tech and Hicks would be a walk in starter at 1 tech.

Call it, what you want, the offense is going to have several new faces next yr. I believe they are truly locked in taking a TE this yr. They are linked to several, Kellen Moore was at Iowa State's pro day yesterday watching one who they like.

I will look him up. I was thinking the raw Penn state linebacker that tested like Micah but is clueless on how to play linebacker.

I have my doubts about the team signing a legitimate NT, they did it just once with Poe and he didn't make it past Halloween. Pass Rusher is a possibility.

Last year, they heavily invested in defense.

This year, it will be on the offensive side of the ball. Our OL is either aging in terms of talent (Smith, Martin), unproven youth (Steele, McGovern), or crap (he who must not be named from the school that shouldn’t be named). Those are your starters.

RB - Elliott and Pollard could both be gone next year.

TE - Schultz was franchised; no depth.

WR - #1 and #2 are locked down. Could be an add here as well.

They will run out the same personnel as last year in the middle. They don't care what you think about it either.

I want RBs in rounds 4-6 both this year as well as next.

I don't want any more second contracts, and it's best if their deals aren't up in the same year if we are to continue to churn the position every 3-4 years.

I dont want to end up tagging Pollard next year or being desperate to sign him because there's no one else.

RB is a must in this draft.

If McClay says they really like the RB Class, odds are they are going to draft one.

first off no comp bro

Zeke at the time was the best rb in the league he was the best rb in college and in HS,.he got paid because he was the best, like it or not its truth, at the time he like many others got paid.
pollards has done squat to earn a premium deal, hes not special nor hasnt done anything production wise that top rb does to get one of those deals who BTWE got their deal before Zeke and after zeke..that alleged mistake the DC FO made was made by the Rams so lauded around here ie Gurley, and few others since then Kamara and McAffrey.at least zeke out of all the big deals for Rbs the last 5years hes the only one that hasnt missed significant time..

I get why you are all passionate about it but player like zeke get paid all around the league regardless of position., if you think Gregory was worth 14mil and Zekes not you are HIGH must be standing too close to Randy LOL downwind much..

https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/rankings/average/running-back/

zeke will be gone next year most likely or cut and brought back for far less or something. so its time to lay off and pollard wont get a huge deal. if he stays the FO might give the guy 3mil or something but hes not zeke never has been and when healthy Zeke is still better IMO proof firsts 8 gams of the year before zekes 2 injuries he was at 5.1 ypc...

that said yes a 3rd round maybe 4th rb would be smart to plan ahead. These guys under Pollard and Zeke aren't the future and should be. Have to start a rotation with young guys get them ready and see what they can do.,

We rely upon lightweights to do the job of heavyweights. Herein lies the gist of the problem. It's simple, yet, too complex for our FO. :omg:

Someone missed something because if I'm reading that right you both disagree and agree with me.

I just don't want to give a RB a second contract, amd I also don't want to draft them before the third round.

Elliott is gone after this year and Pollard is a FA.

I year ago I said this about DE and look where we are now.

I'd rather be ahead of it than cutting or not resigning our entire backfield next year and counting on a veteran or a rookie to carry the whole load.

Add one this year and next in the mid rounds and the position is remade and cheap.

exactly at the time zekes deal was what the market called for he was stop back..it happens so that narrative on not paying backs is irrelevant because all top 3 elite payer sat their position are still getting paid including backs so backs do get 2nd contracts if they are that elite class and yes zeke WAS....like Kamara , henry, and McAffrey after zeke got big deals..

ayt the same time we aren't paying pollard that type of money because he snot close to being top back..so yes keep him cheap and or we must draft a rb or two 3rd-5th round. Go find the future,,

There is a warning sign on him. Watch this player and the number of plays. He was the top D player on the Heisman list and couldn't get enough plays in. I was a fan too, at times I would just go "oh Lordy, how in the hell does anyone block that" and then I couldn't find him on the field. I watched UGA a lot and he wasn't in the game enough.

Watched about every Georgia game this ear......I get it....2 down player.....but after he dropped weight to get to the combine.....I think that might be his natural weight. The guy is rare athletically......and it's not like he didn't make splash plays.....because he did. Give me that guy in the middle....that teams have to account for. I wanna send Jason Kelce into retirement in a body bag.....Or @ least where he's seeing #99 in his nightmares.

If they allow him to bring that chain on the field, sign me up! 6'6" 350 WITH a logging chain and a cock-eyed smile? That's the stuff of nightmares right there.

The defense is fine. We have a stud on every level as long as Tank stays healthy. Barring injuries Parsons and Diggs will get better. It’s about offensive line improvement and telling Zeke to sit his butt down.
The D was 19th. That is not close to fine.
