Other than my Hoosiers I don't watch a lot of college basketball. And I generally root for Big Ten teams in the tourney, even Purdue sort of (I just threw up in my mouth a bit, sorry). But I LOVE MARCH MADNESS! Way to go Saint Peter's! I don't know what I loved more - UMBC beating Virginia as a 16 seed or Saint Peter's making it to the elite 8 as a 15 seed? Or maybe both are equally as amazing? Dang, I love this stuff!

I'd like to see 4 myself. Think that would be pretty awesome.

Me too. I'm a Seton Hall fan, but my wife went to St. Peter's. So of course I am hoping they keep winning. Now that they knocked off Purdue, I think they have a legit shot at the final 4.

Great story for St Peters!

How are you guys feeling about the Hogs vs. the Blue Devils tonight?

Duke has the most talent in college basketball and I think they win this one but you never know. I do know I will be a huge Hogs fan tonight. I am sick of the year long slobberfest of K but his ego needed to announce his retirement before the season.

Duke is favored for a reason but the Hogs can match up with them.
Go Hogs

As a Carolina fan, the opportunity to finally face Duke in a Final Four is pretty enticing.

Then again, we beat them at Coach K's self-flagellating home finale and the Dukies will be forever furious about it. Giving them a chance for vengeance--when they probably have the more talented team this year---is not as enticing.

That Houston/Villanova game should be outstanding.

Go Cougs

Btw, I 100% get why anyone would want St peters to make the Final 4, but I have to root for my alma mater.

So here are the teams I want to see in the Final 4
  • Arkansas (haven't won a title in decades, fun to watch)
  • Houston (have never won a title but should have, fun to watch)
  • North Carolina (alma mater)
  • Miami (have never made a Final 4, I've been watching their games w/ Miami grad/friends))

Hogs benefitted from the other sharp shooter from Zaga being cold because they were leaving them open. They also got Lurch out of the game. He could play the number 1 on Sesame Street.

Duke will present more of a problem with the distribution of talent they have so that defense which has been really strong for them will be tested again.

But it will all come down to JD Notae and can he stay out of foul trouble in the first half. He is the driving force of that team. Took 29 shots against Zaga, the most ever for any player on a winning team in tournament history. The Hogs are the walking proof for Darrell Royal's "ya gotta dance with who brung ya". No Notae, no way.

Fantasy is for them to beat Duke and play the Coogs for a nostalgic trip because it did not get any better for me than the AR D against Phi Slamma Jamma, some of the best college roundball ever played. How that Coogs team ever lost was amazing. Still the best college team I ever saw play and the most fun I could have with my clothes on.

Hoped for is a lot different than expected results, unfortunately

Not a big basketball fan but do enjoy the tournament and really enjoying watching a 15 seed Saint Francis doing the unthinkable, it started by beating a number two seed Kentucky, then Murray State who had the longest winning streak in the nation. Then as a 12 point dog they upset Purdue, next up North Carolina in about an hour from now.

My prediction is the Peacocks will be a hard out but North Carolina gets it done just not by 8 points, do see it closer than that.

Was it really Peacock day a couple days ago when they beat Purdue?

HEELS BABY!

Hubert putting on a coaching clinic down the stretch.
Hubert is definitely one of the good guys.
So glad he's their coach and very happy for him.
That's a pressure job.

Great run by St Peter's. Although today was a blowout, they had a great run
Congrats to them
Final 8!

As many upsets as there were in the tourney....man, the Final Four is just packed with 4 of the very top programs.

8 of the last 16 National Titles with all 4 having won at least one.

3__North Carolina (2017, 2009, 2005)
2__Duke (2015. 2010)
2__Villanova (2018, 2016)
1__Kansas (2008)

and multiple runner-ups too.

Weird, given all the upsets

ACC will be going for 5 out of the last 10 championships. For comparison SEC has won 6 out of the last 10 championships in football. So almost as dominant if Duke or UNC pulls it off.
