LOL. This is one of the deepest receiver drafts in quite some time. Do better.
Here goes.

This year there are 17 WRs with draftable grades last year there were 20.

Amari Cooper, Ceedee Lamb, Devonta Smith, Ja'Marr Chase, and Jaylen Waddle would all be the top WR in this years draft by a long way, no one would be close.

Last year after Chase Waddle and Smith of the 17 remaining WRs only one had more yards than Cedrick Wilson. The next highest was Elijah Moore with 538 yards Receiving. They would be better off signing a FA to a one year deal and give whoever they draft some time to develop Hilton wouldn't be a bad option or someone like that.

Good luck with that.

Well, Prescott had his moment of truth last season, right? Bunch of good players around him, easy road to the play offs, plenty of confidence building wins against suckers... yet when it matters the truth just hit him (and us) in the crotch again and again. Yet some people can't wait for the same nut massage next season. Weird.

Actually from what I can tell, even the homers think we're an 8-9 win team max next season. Without more free agency additions and a strong draft that addresses fundamental issues, they're probably right. We would most likely have to run our division again and do reasonably well against everyone else to finish 10-7 or better.

Well at least the OP is waiting for more moments of truth and to him I was responding, so...

Sure hope we can get back some semblance of a running game!!
They will draft a RB now, but not last season when the season had been extended to 17 games and it was obvious that contending teams where platooning their RB cores.

I really do agree with you about the start of the season. But I think the absolute “moment of truth” for this entire organization will happen when any kind of accountability happens to owner and son. Some kind of reckoning and change. Until then most “moments of truth” will be minor.
The problem is that if a fan of other teams (or FO of this team) is observing from the outside, they see an organization that has had “good seasons” almost every year they have a healthy starting QB since 2014.

They have had a top 8-10 franchise (on average) and are doing way better than the ast majority of the league….again, on average.

So why would they replace themselves
They don't look back 25 years, they look at recent years and compare to the rest of the league.
Many 12-13 win seasons. Just not getting it done in the playoffs
Again, their perspective

They will most definitely have to step up.

Dak is going to have to use his backyard and get his receivers all on the same page before training camp starts and there is absolutely no reason why it can't be done.

Tom Brady did it with guys like Julian Edelman and Danny amendola I'm sure the guys we will end up with we'll have at least that much talent and it will be up the Dak to force them to put the time in.

It's all about forcing guys that are getting paid that much money to be accountable and put the time in to get better for some reason these guys think because they've been paid a king's ransom that they're really that good and don't have to put the time in anymore.

The guys we got rid of Cooper Collins and Gregory were not the players that earned the big contracts They were guys that worked hard enough to get it and then backed off and slacked off

We really still have too many things to square away before we even speculate on the beginning of the season The offensive line needs to flat out be fixed.

For me the moment of truth is have we fixed the pre-snap penalties the holding and everything else that makes impossible down and distance situations and causes us to go 3 and out.

If the old line is left the struggling underachieving mess that it was at the end of last year Dak Will not be able to operate the offense and you don't necessarily get plug and play guys out of the draft for the oline. Some need to develop the ones we get in later rounds never develop so in my opinion something should be done in free agency quickly

Instead of hoping Prescott do what he can't do, we need a run game. It doesn't have to be the 2016 run game, but a decent one. The Eagles don't even have an NFL quarterback and were able to win those games down the stretch with a run game.
The Eagles QB is not a gimp and runs without any fear factor.....Thank the gridiron Gods he's another Prescott when passing.

Its very likely Gallup with miss some time at the beginning of the season. If we stand pat at WR in FA and the early portion of the draft, that makes James Washington our #2 WR to start the season. Washington had a career high of 44 catches three years ago, and 54 receptions combined the last two years.

We extended Prescott to a top tier QB deal, and we drafted Lamb in 2020 to eventually be our #1 WR. Prescott, at least in the early part of 2022, may have to be able to do more with less and/or make players better. Lamb is going to have to show what he can do as the focus of a defense. He will have to do that all year, but he will have alot more attention on him with Gallup out.

Dak has to take some huge strides this year, period. Dak, Lamb, and Washington have to develop some serious chemistry in the off-season especially at camp. Dak need to play as many preseason game snaps as possible. Im all for protecting my quarterback, but we need chemistry and continuity on offense this year.

Hopefully our play calling by the offensive coordinator can resemble something of a professional NFL team in terms of IN GAME ADJUSTMENTS!!!

Dude, the guy can't pass at all. I'm no Dak fan, but no way we go 12-5 with Jalen Hurts. Even if we can only beat bad teams.

You should be happy like Darth, skipping and prancing around for joy and, when time permits, be Stephen's personal water boy.

I think the moment of truth will be Terence Steele's first shot facing a top DE. The realization that he may not be up to the job will be the pin that bursts the bubble.

It is universally known that the draft is a deep one for receivers. There might or might not be a Chase or a Waddle in the class. That remains to be seen. Regardless, we’re not taking one in the first round any way. But we can get a good receiver in subsequent rounds and that’s the whole point. We have our 1 and 2. We need depth and it’s there to be had.

I see what you're saying, you should have said that in the first place. I agree, there should be WRs through round 7 that they can draft for depth and there will probably be a lot UDFAs they can sign too.. If you're trying to replace Cooper and Wilson's production from last year that's a little harder.

Cooper 865
Lamb 1102
Gallup 445
Wilson 602
Brown 184

When your job in the FO is never on the line, you’ll get what we’ve seen for 25+ years. If Dallas does anything significant in the next 5 years, it will be in spite of the Jones’, not because of. But of course, all of us Cowboy fans already know this. :(
