Remember what Chris Godwin got away with in Week 1 vs Jourdan Lewis?

I’ll never believe in a million years that the Cowboys got a fair shake from the refs in 2021. If that makes me a whiner, so be it.

I agree that he has out played his draft status. He is fairly decent against the run and he always gives decent effort but he should not be a starter. The thing that pisses me off is he is supposed to be one of our faster players but guys run by him all the time.
Agreed but he is a 6th rounder. Fast. Technically sound...meh. He is our 4th CB. Really can’t complain.

That game was terrible….there was one point where even Derek Carr was laughing at the officiating…..

It made me wonder why I was wasting my time watching it....and missed out on a Thanksgiving party my roommate was having at another place so I ended up eating dinner at a Waffle House. Talk about a downgrade in every way possible haha. On the bright side, the next week from the Wednesday night until the Sunday night was furtastic hehe.

Oh great another let's blame the refs and and an NFL conspiracy for our failures thread. Just what we need.Cowboyszone - where accountability goes to die.

Didn't he have several penalties against Tampa Bay in that first game? ...Maybe he just got burned a lot in that game. I just remember he had a really bad game.
The stats are 5 penalties for the season with 4 of them in the Raiders game.

The 1 non-Raiders game penalty was in the Vikings game.

I would love to see Joseph step up and win the starting job and the team cut Brown. We could use that cap space to help make this team better. Another example of signing our own mediocre player and not being surprised when the team doesn't get better

You been watching the same team during the offseason that I have? We do not use cap space to get better.

Here's my thing with Brown...he was a 6th round pick. He has vastly outplayed his draft status. I think the guy is a decent player that plays with toughness at CB. So I like the guy.
And who is not overpaid.

I think they wanted to 'be seen'.

It was a Thursday game which meant is was nationally televised.

If the Refs were gambling on the game I think they would have been more subtle.

Both teams had more penalties than any team in any game in 2021.

If I was a ref inclined to gamble I would probably not do it during a game involving one of the most popular teams in professional sports. A gambling ref can make just as much money cheating during a 1pm Jaguars vs Colts game.

Yeah, because we instead use it on resigning our own players like Brown. That's why I said we COULD use it to get better.

Yeah, Goodell’s refs still taking it out on the Cowboys for fighting Zeke’s suspension. I bet Connor Williams’ penalty issues go away now that he’s no longer a Cowboy.

Oh, of course. And then people will say, “It was a coaching issue!”

Even though McCarthy’s Packers were consistently among the NFL’s LEAST penalized teams.

If everyone else on the team played as far above their draft status and contract as Brown we would be unstoppable.

For all other games in 2022, Anthony Brown had 1 penalty for 5 yards.

In the Raiders game he had 4 penalties for 91 yards.

Even Cowboys hating NFL media types were criticizing the refs for that game.

You continue to defend horrible play and weak link players on our football team.

From Chaz Green to Jeff Heath to Jaylon Smith, Zeke Elliott and now Anthony Brown.

Are you even a fan of the Dallas Cowboys or do you just like the pretty star on the helmet?

Brown has largely sucked over his career. Where he was drafted is inconsequential. He is a weak link in our secondary and the guy that gets picked on the most in or defense. He needs to be replaced by younger, better talent.

The NFL is not a sport it is marketed as entertainment so that they can not be sued for rigging games. WWF NFL

I personally think it is more along the line of the whole thing is rigged and run through betting and marketing. From vegas bets, online bets, teams being pushed from a marketing stand point, etc. I don't think the refs are getting paid to throw a game, I think the refs as a whole are told when to throw games, or 1 or 2 refs on a crew. As in, whoever is calling the shots, puts the crew in. I don't think it is where they bribe a ref on a good crew.

Since I have been looking for it, one of the examples I have noticed in recent years, is delayed calls when they mess up and show the wrong camera angles. You can see the refs waiting until long after the play is called, and it is almost like they get a message in their ear piece to throw the flag, and they run in. It looks so fake it cant be a realtime call. I usually see 2 or 3 a year.
