What chance does this offense have against the Rams?

  • A QB that I project to be the same
  • The TE position I project to be the same
  • A RB group that got WORSE (you don't get better at this position by getting older)
  • A WR corps that got WORSE (you don't get better by releasing your best WR and replacing him with and UNPROVEN Cee Dee Lamb and a WR that will not even be ready to start the season)
  • An OL that got WORSE - Tyron Smith is NOT getting better. I hope Martin stays the same. The LG is vacant. Our starting C is a backup. And the RT is average with his ceiling being "above average" (notice I did not say good, great, or excellent).
We played a NFC West team in the playoffs...and it was not even close. When you think about how EASILY we beat up on the NFC East...and contrast that with how EASILY we were beaten by a team from the NFC West...a team that is not even the best team from the NFC West...beaten in our own stadium...what is there to be optimistic about? Our amount of cap room? The amount of mid-round picks we are piling up? How on earth does the Jones family expect us to maintain any respect for them. Or how many times do they have to tell us "we don't care" before we start believing them?!?!?!?!

It appears we aren't trying to get better. They want to march out the same team minus a few key players, and with the draft picks. That isn't going to make us significantly better. It isn't enough to get over the hump. We look one and done, again. Things can change, but it looks unlikely at this point.

The gap between us and the DREADFUL NFC East has shrunk!!! But beating the scrubs of the NFC East should not be our GOAL!!!!!!!!! We beat them so bad last year...and then got handled so easily in the playoffs...management should have licking their chops to get better. But what do we do instead? Let some of our top players walk out the door. I am okay with that if you have a plan to add better pieces. But that is NOT what is happening!!!!!!

San Fran beat the Rams twice earlier in the year before losing to them in the playoffs. One of the losses was pretty lopsided, something like 30-10. I would be more concerned that Dallas did not play better as the season went on. Hopefully clearing out some of the players who contributed to that will set a better tone going forward. I suspect the defense will be better. The offense doesn’t have to be #1 to win a championship.

Is this a serious post?

We have to worry about all the good teams... Rams, 49ers who knocked us out of the playoffs, Green Bay, Cardinals, Bengals, Tampa Bay... I don't see how having less talent will actually help us compete
I agree...I keyed in on them because they paid Goff, like we paid Dak. They paid Gurley, like we paid Zeke. They at least went to the Super Bowl. But lost and said...we have to get better. And they got BETTER in spite of moving off of guys they paid big money too. Not only did they move off of them. They added BETTER players who are ALSO making big money. Yet all we hear is that we are STUCK with Dak and Zeke!!!!!!!!!!!

We have regressed this off season and number 24 in the draft rarely produces impact players.
My expectations are low for this season.
Win the NFC Least and get bounced the first playoff game.

Sorry.

Darn those Cowboys sure do stink. It’s like they aren’t even trying. Last year when everyone thought they stunk they won 12 games. That definitely won’t happen this year because of all of your excellent points.
You are right....we won 12 games. How many of those were against good teams? The NFC East is not a good measuring stick

Another question would be.... What if the boys didn't commit so many penalties, how many more games would they have won?

I hear you...but I guess what about the coaching staff or players leads us to believe we will not be a penalty machine? We generally are a penalty machine. And Mike McCarthy announces AFTER the season that is something he will address!!!

How many good teams did the Rams beat?

I can go with Tampa and maybe Arizona but they also lost to Arizona so who knows.

You are asking me how many good teams did the team that won the Super Bowl beat?

I know the Jones family has changed the narrative in their favor. The narrative that the Super Bowl is not the goal. Most ingenious thing Jerry has EVER done!!!

The moment he realized that he can make more money than any other owner in the history of sports...without even having to win....was the day this franchise died. And hey...they even threw in a Gold Jacket to go along with the losing and the money!

I am asking you that. You are not impressed with Dallas’ 12 wins. Go look at who the Rams beat.
