Yeah. But they won the ultimate prize. I’d much rather pay the rent when it’s due if it gives us a spot in the venue. Instead of cleaning up the tables after other teams win. I can use analogies as well.

Oh you would?

Terrific!

As I said, I am not even asking for them to go FA crazy like the Rams have.

But every once in awhile spending real money to fix a clear hole would make sense. Again, they thought DE was a big enough problem to hand Gregory $70 million. He bolts and they come back with Fowler for $3 million. That's just absurd.
I honestly dont' know what they are doing honestly. I'm just not sure if its arrogance or stupidity. I really don't understand their logic other than them possibly wanting salary cap for after the draft when some vets will be available. That's the only thing I can make of it. I agree with you...I think a organization owes it to its fanbase to make moves even if they fail. Making sound logical moves is not a bad thing even if they fail.

Their lack of playoff success isn't just about personnel though.

Yes it is. You can't blame everything on coaching (which admittedly has been a problem too). The rosters have been, at times, flawed as well.

We had the same record as the Super Bowl champs last year with a mostly young team.

That’s when you get aggressive and go all-in.

Instead, we lost our #1 WR, #3 OL and #2 DE.

Our biggest signing was the Steelers’ #4 WR.

Unbelievable.

Ok, so we keep the #1 WR, #3 OL and #2 DE....how do you propose we'd get under the CAP as that would put us roughly $8m over in 2022 and $48m over in 2023?

....oh and way to go overspending on 'your guy's' Mr Jones.

The cap is the cap. The Rams dont get special cap accounting rules that only they get to follow.

They just are seizing their window here. Jerry and Stephen won't do this. Their logic and plan is based solely on hope. Instead of trying to build a great team for a short window to win, they want decent to good teams to minimize the downside and hope they just get lucky and catch lightning in a bottle and make a SB run.
This 100%. The Rams are in it for the ring while the Cowboys are doing it for sustainability.

We have a LG....McGovern could play there and hold his own. Good thing about him is he didn't have a propensity to commit penalties.

Center is not a bad player, average to this point. Unless you believe PFF, i don't, that he is really highly graded.

Pass rush is about the same that it was last year except that we may have Dlaw for a whole year and year two of Micah.

We have the draft, I hate to break it to you. We will get some players that will really help us this year, we always do.
McGovern can not hold his own. He sucks.

The Center is bad. He’s very bad.

I'm going to remember this when the Rams average a 5-12 season for five consecutive seasons following their failed attempt to repeat.

Their future has been gutted.

They gambled last season and won. Now, they're getting greedy. That's why the house always wins.

Cool but that Is speculation and they DO have a SB win and another appearance in 4 years. So your saying their making a SB and winning one in 4 yrs is not as good as 3 playoff wins in 25 years. Sounds like it. They somehow is your 5 yr guess to feel better?

Good for them and they are selling out again. It’s all a gamble either way.

Anyone surprised, other owners are doing calculus while the Jones boys are still on addition/subtraction. My hatred for them is unmatched.

We lost technically.....our #2 wr. Ceedee had more targets and made the pro bowl last year.

Our $70 million pass rusher was one of the reasons we were one and done and is a career LOSER.

Our starting LG that led the league in penalties that will be upgraded significantly in the draft.

Sure. How are those comps at AT&T?

I'm a huge Mavericks fan, and it annoys me that no one wants to come here, and yet with the Cowboys, everyone wants to come here yet we can never afford them. We always say no, and the rams continually says yes to great players.

The AFC will torture themselves with all those loaded teams and the Rams will just trample along the NFC and win it all again.

Could be Rams vs Chargers or Rams vs Bills this year.

Yep, there's no coherent strategy, the only explanation I can think is that the Jones wont accept that they made a mistake and that they put all their money (and time) on Gregory and therefore missed out on: Chandler Jones, V Miller and to a lesser degree Z Smith (though i'm sure he would be put off with the 'loss of non-guarantee, clause). When you've got premium talent they want courting rather than turning to them as a last resort.

Jones' will NEVER admit that they made a mistake.....prefer dealing with his 'guys', rather than keep getting rebuffed by outside FA's?? Strange how we bring in co-ordinators for EVERY situational positional...other than Front Office concerns.

It's very simple.

The Cowboys team that visits the Star to workout today is worse than the one that left the field after losing to San Fran. Sure the offseason isn't over but at this point, if this team is to improve on what sulked off the field after that playoff loss, they are going to have to nail the draft and not just one pick. They are going to have nail three or four picks.
Bill Parcells said you are either getting better or getting worse. When I think about our 11 starters on offense...Steele, Schultz, whomever they plug at LG and Cee Dee Lamb have the potential to get better. Which means we are getting worse at 7 other spots

On defense...I see the potential to get better with Diggs, Parsons, and the kid we drafted out of Kentucky at the other CB spot...so that is 8 other spots on defense you are getting worse

For a team that plays in a terrible division and lost at home in the wild card round of the playoffs.....potentially getting better at 7 out of 22 spots is not good enough! Especially when the improvements are not on the DL and OL. We MUST improve at LG and C....if we do not...this season is over before it starts. You don't need steak at every position on the OL...but they have to be NFL caliber starters. And last year....they were not.
