I'm a huge Mavericks fan, and it annoys me that no one wants to come here, and yet with the Cowboys, everyone wants to come here yet we can never afford them. We always say no, and the rams continually says yes to great players.

As said above, I think it's our approach towards these stars, we EXPECT they want to come to us (and possibly on the cheap).

It's very simple.

The Cowboys team that visits the Star to workout today is worse than the one that left the field after losing to San Fran. Sure the offseason isn't over but at this point, if this team is to improve on what sulked off the field after that playoff loss, they are going to have to nail the draft and not just one pick. They are going to have nail three or four picks.

I would give a mulligan for the FO on the fact that this is year one that we've reset the CAP. We were never going to be able to improve with CAP situation and I think they've put the onus on the recent draft picks to step up.

Looking forward I wonder if this year is a holding pattern to see whether (a year further down the line after injury) we now go all in behind Dak.....which will inadvertently put us in Cap Purgatory in 2025 and 2026 where we will have Dak Dead Money approaching $50m in both years.

If they restructured evenly between the remaining void years the cap hit is approximately 30 million. Still a lot, but not as dire as 50.

We had the same record as the Super Bowl champs last year with a mostly young team.

That’s when you get aggressive and go all-in.

Instead, we lost our #1 WR, #3 OL and #2 DE.

Our biggest signing was the Steelers’ #4 WR.

Unbelievable.

we all knew Coop wasn’t getting that 20 million base in 2022.

CDL is our WR1. He was in 2021. (CDL is going to get Coops $$$)

they won’t pay a WR who only catches 60 passes that kind of Money.

same deal with Collins and RGreg.

I am so confused . . . the ingenious plan is to wait a year to go all in . . . what?

They have been going all in with Dak since he has been here.

What are you trying to say?

If they arent going all in now . . . They never will

Lol. . . . all CD is gonna get is grief from the DAK fans

By this time next year they will be claiming He is an overrated Bust and should not get paid because having him in Moore's offense is a waste . . . and Poor Dak deserves better.

Smart of him, go somewhere with a QB that can get you over the hump.

Im assuming in your 'all-in' scenario we arent just signing one year contracts. If we sign elite players they'll want longer deals and if you look at the structuring of these contracts its usual to sign a low CAP hit in year one (but rewards the player with money in their pocket via signing bonus). Our problem this year is that we can't defer into 2023 as we still arent totally out of the CAP woods.

Next year we can make those signings to a low initial CAP hit (2023), rewards the player with the bonus money and allows us to take the CAP hit in 2024 which is relatively healthy.

There may also be conjecture as to wait and see whether we actually go all-in with Dak as your Franchise QB. Give him 2022 to see whether it's time to go all-in. It's great saying go all-in like the Rams because they've won a SB, that'll get them through some very barren years in the future, to go all-in and fail to win is suicide. I think 2021/22 has shaken the FO.

If we were a super bowl contender or the defending champs I would be on board sacrificing some of the future to improve our odds of winning another super bowl. As it stands we are a team that struggles to win a playoff game. There is nothing about this team that says double down this is a super bowl window. Sacrificing our future to prop up an over priced pig is what keeps us in the same place year after year after year.

Surprised the rams didn’t tender /re-sign Reeder.
Don’t think he’s anything special but filled in alright for them when needed.

#BiadaszHate

1100 snaps

0 sacks
Stud run blocker too right? Nothing like telling half the story to prove a point.

What's this teams main offensive problem? They can't run the ball. How many runs were directly behind Biadasz? Plenty.

I like him and fully defended him early last year, but then his game somehow went to hell....and so did the offense as a whole at the same time.

Blow up my avatar and take a closer look. That should never happen ONCE on an NFL field. That play didn't count as a sack either.

If he doesn't figure it out he will probably lose the job to Farinok IMO.

Same can be said for Von Miller.

Both of these players went to teams going for the gold and there are inherent risks but I would rather have a team taking risks and failing than not taking any risk at all.

Neither Knonke nor Snead said they would do anything to win another Superbowl and then did very little. They let their off season positioning speak for them.

The Cowboys do not play the game the same way and that's not to say the way the Rams are playing it will deliver another ring but to the Rams fans, they know their team isn't waiting for anything. They are on full power to return to the Big Dance.
Gotta keep that new stadium rocking!

$10 mil/year for a guy that can change your team does not seem like that big of a deal to me. If they weren't willing to do that at a position of relative weakness (outside of Micah but they aren't really the same position) then I'm not sure they are willing to make any real moves at any position. Just goes to show that despite what Jerry says he is not willing to do whatever it takes to win a Superbowl.
