Nice article breaking down how Dallas has done drafting from 2010 to 2019 verses the rest of the NFL, not just in a vacuum.

Dallas was 8th in draft return during that period, but did it with the 4th least draft capital.

Dallas has gotten a good start in the next decade by drafting Lamb(6th best in class) and Parsons(best in class) the last two drafts.

Another interesting point is that Dallas is the 8th winningest team in the NFL during this same time frame. But Dallas has nothing to show in the post season with all this draft success and wins. That's what everyone remembers and the teams draft success and being a winning team is forgotten.

Many believe Dallas is the worst run organization in the NFL, but if that is the case, the vast MAJORITY of teams in the NFL are poorly run.

Our problem is we find a way to get severely outcoached in the biggest of spots.

Great that we draft well.....doesn't matter when you can't find the right staff.

Tough to do when qualification #1 is if you aren't good enough to potentially take credit away from Jerry if you happen to win.

It's such backward logic it's a joke.....but onward we go.....

Just think how huge Pollard would be if he were a Chief.

All that great drafting with no results, this article isn’t worth the space it takes up. Some try to sell mediocre as great this is one of them. Wonder how much Jerry funds these clowns.

When the same two guys have run your personnel department for the last 25 years and you have 3 playoff wins to show for it - that's the measuring stick.

Drafting is only part of building a winner, and we have the lack of playoff success to prove it.

The data is from Football Outsiders. A fact is a fact even if you don't like it..

They are good at amassing talent via the draft. No question.

But, they also do a great job of eroding any power a head coach could have in his locker room and enable and foster a culture which makes the young talent believe they have already achieved something with some regular season success.

They defeat the whole purpose by trying to cultivate the greatest show on Earth, circus atmosphere along with the big top.

Edit: I wish that they would learn how to skillfully use all of free agency (including the big ticket guys) mixed with successful drafting. That team would be amazing to see talent-wise. They may actually overcome the idiot owner/GM and idiot EVP.

lets only look at the last 2 years and only at the 1sr rd picks. Congrats on grabbing the blinking light and being forced by other teams to take Parsons.

The data is from 2010 to 2019 for all draft picks.

It's pointed out that Dallas is off to a good start in the new decade by the Lamb and Parsons selections.

Reading and comprehension would help, try it.

Great post.

It doesnt matter how unbelievably great their 3rd rounds have been of late.....that stuff is very tough to overcome. Next to impossible.

Mr. "I'd do anything to win" ego doesnt agree.

So that's why we keep winning playoff games and super bowls. I was wondering.

The playoffs and championships is an apple and oranges argument. One(drafting) has nothing to do with the other(playoff victories).

I even mention it at the top. For all the success in drafting for Dallas, it hasn't translated into post season success.

Just presenting data that Dallas drafts well. Nothing else. Keep wondering.
