CeeDee Lamb Targets

Is this not concerning...if the FO had a plan they should have made CeeDee more of a focal point going into the end of the season:

Last three games of the season he had 5/4/2 targets. 4 Targets only in a must win NFC game? Did not notch over 100 yards after the MIN and NE game, some of this may be attributed to the blow outs but still? No touchdowns after Week 9.

This OC is a huge problem. MM is digging his own grave doing this as well, not sure if he's just collecting a pay cheque at this point but he's definitely not making it look that way going on these visits. Over 100 yards in Week 1 and did not have this opportunity again until the NE game, showed he can do it and our team just didn't work him into the offense ever again. I don't see how we can't use him like Devante and make the gameplan for him, so I have hope. OL can be solved in RD 1, but we will still have a problem at WR. WR can be solved in RD 1, but our coaches and QB will not utilize them to their full extent.

A lot of holes right now where talent is needed, this is kind of making me want to shore up the defense but I can see IOL/WR/LB as a RD 1 threat. In conclusion I just wanted to point out, why not get our future WR 1 involved in the latter part of the season going into the playoffs, instead we let him crumble away and Amari was the one complaining.

Another reason behind dumping Amari Cooper (besides his price tag vs. production) was to put Lamb into the featured role and see how he responds. Lamb wasn't taken in the 1st round to be a complementary piece, he was taken to be a go-to playmaker.

Now the Cowboys are giving him that opportunity. If he seizes it than he gets not only his fifth year option exercised in 2024 but he gets a long term deal. One thing we know for sure is Dallas loves "their guys". Even though they traded for Cooper he was actually the Raiders' guy. It's how this team does business.

CeeDee needs a lot of work, too many drops and not always on the same page with Dak, his route running needs to be cleaned up. That stuff is worked out in the off season and not during the season or playoff game. If he's truly a number one, he and Dak will be attached at the hip this off season. I think and I hope he becomes a true number one for us. He has the talent.

That end zone play against the Chiefs that ended up being an INT and concussion for CeeDee Lamb.

After that play there, CeeDee Lamb was not the same player since.

Hopefully that is behind him.
I think he should be ok but yeah I will admit it was bad, what makes it even worse is it happened on an INT that was underthrown.

Ceedee has talent no doubt but from seeing what I have from his workouts I feel like he's focusing on his footwork a little bit too much with coming off the line and his deception and lacking in the catching department. Agree with Ranching he needs to work on his hands and he can become unstoppable. Dak really did not even have last off-season to throw with him because of his shoulder injury so it gives a lot of optimism in terms of where he can go but again, have not seen the OC tailor the game plan to 1 player or match-up all of 2021

We dont have a problem at all at WR other than a 4th guy. The problem is the Oline.

What did all these WR's do for us last year in the 2nd half of the season? Not much if you cant pass or run block. Fix the Oline and we have plenty of pass catchers. Nab one on the 2nd day or sign one in FA. Problem solved. You dont fix the line and you could have Moss and Rice back there and its not going to matter.

I do agree we have a problem at OC. He seems to have hit a wall.

Lol, my favorite post of the entire off-season simply because of this statement:

"if the FO had a plan"

Those two idiots don't have a plan other than trying to make themselves look like drafting geniuses, and it all goes back to Jerry's insecurities in everyone believing that Jimmy built the Championship teams of the 90's.

My man needs to hit the weight room this off season and add some bulk.
He needs to focus on catching the ball.
Way too many drops last year

Do we really need a number one wide receiver?

Yeah... Dak said that.
Dallas with Dak is a run first team. They need to run to set up the pass. With a weak offensive line and a tightend named Shultz...good luck with that. Tagging Shultz was dumb for that reason alone.

Fix the OLine, fix the offense.

Right. We need offensive linemen. WR is fine. If we can protect Dak and open holes for Zeke and TP then the receivers will be good. As far as CeeDee goes, he does have some drops here and there but he'll be fine. I'm not happy we lost Cooper but I feel if our offensive line is in good shape our passing game will not miss a beat.

My main concerns going into the draft is obviously offensive linemen, then DT and LB. On day 2 I'd like to draft a developmental QB, safety and CB.

But WR is one of the positions I'm not worried about.

6 of Daks picks were on throws to CD. He had 9 drops or something on top of that.

He got a ton of play on those WR screens and smokes early in the year but his limited route tree was gameplanned as the season wore on.

Does CeeDees hands need to improve? YES, but his drops were exaggerated all year.

CeeDee had 4 drops (on 120 targets), 9 drops led the league. He wasnt even in the top 28 in drops, he was tied for 13th in the NFC with 13 other wrs.

J Chase (128) and K Allen (157) led the league with 9 each.

Other notables- D. Samuel 7 (121), T Hill 6 (151), S Diggs 5 (164) , A Brown 5 (105); all more than CeeDee.

CeeDee is probably playing for us for 5 years and he walks is my guess. Unless he takes less than market value I don't see him getting paid 20+ million a year. Maybe for another team with a better QB, but not us.

This team is set up to fail this year. The FO loves to trot out the “#1 offense” ranking as a PR stunt and talk about how great Kellen, Dak, Zeke, CD etc are as players.

But there are a multitude of issues plaguing the offense at this point, and we have a FO in denial about it. A roster that was not good enough to begin with— has actually gotten worse, and the FO confidently sits back, does nothing, and expects positive results.

I see us no better than 9-8 and heading for a HC change where JJ will likely waste serious draft capital to bring an overrated and worn out Payton in as the “master stroke”.

Agreed. De up there too. Dont forget that Cooper is infamous for drops throughout his career. Not as much here.
