My father was cursed with dementia for about a decade, just like Rayfield. I had always hoped science would come up with a miraculous cure to turn that around but, obviously it just wasn't in the cards. I'm sure it was a merciful thing that death relieved Rayfield of his plight.

Rest in Peace, Sir. I'm quite certain that the Cowboys will never see a better TE than you were!
The Ring of Honor will always be a fitting reminder of exactly what you did.

So Sorry to hear of Rayfield Wright passing away.He was a Man whose leadership, dignity and class combined with his outstanding athletic ability made Him one of the true great players in Dallas Cowboys history. When Coach Landry moved Rayfield from TE to OT he told him he beleved Rayfield had the talent and intelligence to become an excellent player and it led to his long distinguished career as one of the greatest Offensive Tackles in NFL history.

RIP "Big Cat",You always kept it 'real' and Your Cowboys Teammates,Opponents and Fans will never forget You.
