I used to post a lot on "The Ranch" which used to be Scout. Then Fish bought it. I don't even go there any more at all. Imagine a board like this one, but it is all Fish, all the time.

I posted there for years, long before I found CZ (and before Fish bought it). Compared to this place, The Ranch was a free-for-all.

That board was, mercifully, shut down a few years ago. I recognize a few other folks here who migrated from there.

Isn't Jarrett one of those DTs that's been around the league for 10 years. Why can't Dallas just spend a first round pick on a DT. They always try to go cheap and end up with a guy that has issues in talent. Just like at QB.

He's going to be 29 in a few weeks and comes with a 16.5M cap hit. So you got nothing to worry about. They'll probably draft a fat body in the 4th round.

I would take a shot at Grady Jarrett. Depending on the price and if he was willing to redo his deal.

You have the wrong side of the ball. The O line is a disaster right now. Hopefully that will get fixed by the start of the season.

I don't know if either is a disaster, but both have holes.

The offensive line badly needs a left guard more than anything. McGovern was given a shot because of Williams' penalty issues, but couldn't hold it down. Farniok has looked decent in the interior line roles he's been given, but that's either preseason or limited snaps. We don't really know how he'd hold up. The jury is still out on Biadasz at center and Steele at right tackle. Smith obviously will miss some time at left tackle, and we don't know what we've got in Ball as a backup. Sooner or later, we've got to find out if the players we drafted can get the job done, but it seems that there is at least one obvious need.

Defensive line is the same. We've got multiple bodies at defensive tackle who helped the defense be pretty good last year, but we don't have that dominant DT who could take it to the next level. I know there's some panic about DE with Gregory gone and Fowler being brought in as a replacement, but it isn't like we're trying to replace great production there. I do think Gregory created more disruption than he's given credit for, but I can't say the combination of Armstrong and Fowler won't be an adequate replacement. I know some want a big body in there at DT, but I really think what we need is someone who can push the pocket and get into the backfield to disrupt the play.

I don't expect us to draft a DT early, though, since we've spent a 2 and two 3s on the position in the last few drafts. I do expect an early OL to be taken. Would love for us to fix the DT issue with Jarrett, but that's a pipe dream.

Unlikely. Atlanta DC Dean Pees really wants Jarrett to stay on and lead the rebuild of the defense on the field and in the locker room. (With Matt Ryan's exit, Jarrett is the 2nd longest tenured Falcons player behind OT Jake Matthews.) The FO is trying to work out an extension versus letting him play out the final season of his contract and he walks away without nothing in return for the team.
But it depends on Jarrett -- does he want to finish out his career in Atlanta?
The extension - whether with the Falcons or another team - won’t be cheap.
Don't see the Joneses paying that price- even if the swap is just a 2nd round pick.

He just dreams up scenarios based on nothing but his own imagination. How the hell does this guy have a job?

Jerry has something against drafting DTs in the first round. Heck I bet if Aaron Donald had fallen to Dallas they would of passed.

If any of these people throw enough out there, they are going to not only get noticed but not be punished for getting it wrong. All Fisher needs is one scoop.

It is all rumor driven and there is no rule that says it has to be based in fact. Just get people discussing it and remember you as the source. The number of times rumors get repeated is infinite.

Fisher is not a set up guy like Florio, Glazer or Scheffter. NFLN set Scheffter up when he was brand new to help establish him as a credible source and they fed him rumors they knew to be fact and eventual.

Yup I did as well. I don't even remember why I left actually.

Fish took advantage of an 80 year old senile Jerry Jones by making up a story about being a local reporter instead of the trespasser that he is.
