You have the wrong side of the ball. The O line is a disaster right now. Hopefully that will get fixed by the start of the season.
I don't know if either is a disaster, but both have holes.
The offensive line badly needs a left guard more than anything. McGovern was given a shot because of Williams' penalty issues, but couldn't hold it down. Farniok has looked decent in the interior line roles he's been given, but that's either preseason or limited snaps. We don't really know how he'd hold up. The jury is still out on Biadasz at center and Steele at right tackle. Smith obviously will miss some time at left tackle, and we don't know what we've got in Ball as a backup. Sooner or later, we've got to find out if the players we drafted can get the job done, but it seems that there is at least one obvious need.
Defensive line is the same. We've got multiple bodies at defensive tackle who helped the defense be pretty good last year, but we don't have that dominant DT who could take it to the next level. I know there's some panic about DE with Gregory gone and Fowler being brought in as a replacement, but it isn't like we're trying to replace great production there. I do think Gregory created more disruption than he's given credit for, but I can't say the combination of Armstrong and Fowler won't be an adequate replacement. I know some want a big body in there at DT, but I really think what we need is someone who can push the pocket and get into the backfield to disrupt the play.
I don't expect us to draft a DT early, though, since we've spent a 2 and two 3s on the position in the last few drafts. I do expect an early OL to be taken. Would love for us to fix the DT issue with Jarrett, but that's a pipe dream.
