6 of the 17 games were played in our division against really bad teams. Couple that with games against teams that were banged up got us that overinflated stat of #1 offense. The real proof of how inept the offense was could be seen towards the end of the season where they were struggling to move the ball when the run game was shut down.

A picture is worth 1000 words they say.....

What was their rank once you removed all the terrible teams they played last year?

It would be a pain to do manually but eyeballing the gap about 8th/9th in offense and and 24th/25th in defense. Still doesn’t really affect the point at all. It didn’t make the defense or run game better (actually run game gets far worse) and doesn’t make OLine play better. So basically you are still making a good argument for the same point as I am just trying to add a cute nothing line in there.

Everyone can get in on this one, even the Dak haters.

Jaylon Smith.....................Gone!
Cooper..............................Gone!
Collins...............................Gone!

To me we still have the worst one on the books and that is Zeke. The mild extension makes Lawrence contract much more agreeable. Doesnt it average like 14 million per year now or something like that?

On an note for the Dak haters I believe Dak is already moving down the list for QB's and is now the 5th highest paid QB. With the Ravens QB soon to sign he should be at #6. Already in two years getting down to about where he should be as far as salary vs ranking. Laughably he might actually be a bargain in a few years. LOL

Is Tyrone Smith becoming an overpaid contract? Thoughts?
Dak, Zeke, Lawrence.

Tyron is the only one on this list that lived up to his money. He don’t owe Dallas a thing…

The question was how many bad contracts we have today, not how much a player did in the past.

And right now i view Tyron's contract as a bad one for us. Tyron is now a injury concern. He has been long in this league and is on the decline. IMO we should have traded him 2 years ago where he had some major trade value.

It is. At this point, it's a worse contract than Zeke's.

Could you really remove all the terrible teams and believe you have a just ranking?

I see your point, but a system in which you averaged everyone's strength of schedule and adjusted accordingly would make better sense. I think we take a hit, but not as big as most would imagine.

Everyone goes on about our division and ignores GBs division. Really the NFC was riddled with weak divisions, minus the West. Most of the top teams had a good number of "easy" games.

He carried us to the playoffs.
The Dakster carried the Boys??????? Homie, the Dakster didn't carry a dam thing. If it weren't for the defense last season there's a good chance the Dakster's play would have doomed the Cowboy's chance of making the playoffs. The Dakster made his living off of the toads last season and even a couple of those games were a struggle for him. The $160 million Dakster in nothing more than a Kurt Cousins clone who's so overpaid for what he brings to the team, which is considered by many to be not much.

So in 1 year and a injury and now he can’t get the edge.. It’s been one year and a bad O-Line. The line gets all of them to the edge. And you maybe right. I can’t argue with you.

He hasn't been able to get to the edge in years. Very predictable. The point is that any good back can do what he does. IN fact Pollard does it much better. Has for 3 years now.

Personally I would goto a RB by committee so we dont get into this situation again.

I want to pick one in round 3-5 this year, do the same next year......skip two years, then repeat.

Never give a second contract or rely on some older dude who lost his burst.

It's a jersey seller position for Jerry so who knows what they will do. I can see him using a first on a RB again at some point semi soon. Still hung up on those triplets.

It couldn’t have anything to do with playcalling. Always up the gut runs. I like Pollard. I am not all in on Elliot. No pro Elliot or anti Elliot. I want to see a healthy Elliot and improved O-Line. Thats all I am saying. You could be right or I maybe. He has taken alot of abuse and reps for a player that should still be in his prime.

Just Zeke. Dak is quickly falling down the list of the top paid QBs.

This coming season D.C. has that honor.......:(
Lol.. I am giving Dak this season before I jump ship. We had a good streak going until his injury. Then O-Line injuries and shuffling players that were getting flagged more than I could have imagined. D-Law with the predictable injury and lost Gregory for a few. We have no DT. Elliot and Pollard injured. Jarwin and Elliot injured in the vikings game. After that we abandoned the 13 personnel (I think) we had been using for that streak. Don’t know why we couldn’t run it without Jarwin but we ditched it. After that we looked either good or predictable. We beat washington when they were on a roll and were hot. Absolutely dismantled that team. But as usual we flopped. I just can’t blame one person for it. If Moore does the same thing this year he needs to go. If Dak plays the same way he played the last part of the year then I am done with him too. I want the Dak we had against the pats team. He hung in and made the plays. If he can’t do it then bye. And I am thinking JJ is looking hard this season at him as well.

I used to love those carry the load, rushing leader type work horses too. But in the scheme of today's NFL with the salary cap it makes little sense. And especially using high picks on such a short shelf life position.

I have also learned over the years that its more about the Oline. Spend the money on the line.
